The follow-up steps include equipment entry, production line assembly, debugging, and trial production...

After the trial production is successful, we must continue to optimize and improve the yield rate...

If the yield rate is low, mass production will not be possible and we will definitely lose money.

Only when the yield rate reaches the standard can the fab be officially put into production.

A large-scale wafer factory with a monthly production capacity of 100,000 or even hundreds of thousands of wafers takes a year and a half from the start of construction to the start of production.

However, the Xingyi wafer fab is small in scale and has small production capacity. If everything goes well, it will last more than a year.

Although the scale of this wafer fab is small, with a total production capacity of only 50,000 wafers per month, it is enough for Xingyi Technology for the time being.

Mobile phone chips are relatively complex. A 12-inch wafer can cut out 700 mobile phone chips. Counting the yield rate, based on a yield rate of 80%, there are 560 mobile phone chips.

50,000 pieces per month is 14 million mobile phone chips, which is 6.8 billion mobile phone chips per year, which is enough for Xingyi mobile phones for the time being.

As for low-end smart home chips, they are worthless and there is no need to occupy precious production capacity. They are directly handed over to SMIC for foundry.

In the previous life, Xiaomi's smart home chips were sold for only ten yuan each.

Xingyi Semiconductor develops and produces products in-house and can make them cost one yuan a piece.

Even if it is handed over to SMIC for OEM, the cost will only be about 2 yuan, which is only a few cents difference.

The Xingyi wafer fab has limited production capacity, so it is better to produce high-value mobile phone chips.

However, the processor was completely replaced from Nvidia Tegra 3 to the self-developed and self-produced Kunpeng 500 SOC.

Similarly, Xingyi Tablet X1pro will continue to be sold next year, and will also be completely replaced by Nvidia Tegra 3 to Kunpeng 500.

This is also the case with Xingyi TV X40 and X50.

Coupled with the 999 Unbounded mobile phone, all series are equipped with Kunpeng 500 SOC as standard. As a result, even if 6.8 billion Kunpeng 500 units are mass-produced next year, they can be fully digested.
