Wang Yi and Qualcomm signed the APQ 8064 purchase agreement half a year ago.

In order to grab the order for the quad-core processor, Qualcomm agreed with Wang Yi that the supply price of APQ 8064 to Wang Yi is no higher than that of Nvidia's tegra 3!

Nowadays, Nvidia's tegra 3 is sold for $12, so that's OK, Qualcomm APQ8064 costs other companies $18 or even $20, but according to the contract, it can only give Wang Yi no more than tegra 3, that is $12!

The latest 28nm flagship processor, for only $12, is really cheap enough.

There is no way. If Qualcomm dares to ask for a high price, Wang Yi's Xphone 2 can continue to use Nvidia tegra 3.

Although 28 nanometers are one generation ahead of 40 nanometers, if it is twice as expensive, it will be completely worthless.

As for the baseband price of Xphone 2, the scoring situation.

Currently, there are two basebands that match APQ 8064, MDM 8215 and MDM 9615.

Both are brand new 28nm basebands, but their performance is much worse.

MDM 8215 is a 3G baseband and does not support telecommunications, so the price will be more beautiful.

But if you use MDM 9615, the price will be higher. After all, it supports telecom 3G and 4G.

In the previous life, Xiaomi 2 and Xiaomi 2DM 8215 supported mobile 2G, China Unicom 2G, 3G, and not telecommunications.

The telecom version uses MDM 9615. In addition to Mobile 2G, China Unicom 2G, and 3G, it also supports Telecom 3G, which is a complete full network version.

Similarly, iPhone 5 also uses the MDM 9615 baseband, which supports full network access.

Although the Xiaomi 2/2S telecom version and iPhone 5 both use the 4G-enabled MDM 9615 baseband, none of the three models support 4G.

Nothing else, the baseband supports 4G, and the transceiver of three mobile phones RTR8600 RF does not support 4G signal transmission and reception, so it is just a 3G mobile phone.

On the contrary, the iPhone 5 9615 baseband + WTR1605L 4G transceiver in 2013 only supports 4G.

Similarly, the Xphone 2 also faces the problem of what baseband and transceiver to use.

If you use the 3G baseband 8215, Wang Yi will want more, and the price will be $11.

This 8064 chip + 8215 baseband, a total of US$23, is cost-effective, but does not support telecommunications.

If you choose Qualcomm's strongest baseband MDM 9615, the price will be expensive.

After all, Qualcomm MDM 9615 baseband supports 4G, and even if Wang Yi wants more, it will cost $13 or even $15.

The Xiaomi 2 Telecom version is only 8064 + MDM 9615 baseband, supporting telecom 2G and 3G full network access.

As for 4G?

It doesn't make much sense.

Domestic 4G licenses were issued at the end of 2013 and only started to advance in 2014.

In 2012, there was no need.

To put it bluntly, although MDM 9615 supports 4G, it was still used as 3G in 2012.

This is true for Xiaomi and the iPhone 5 is the same.

There is no need to force 4G on Xingyi mobile phones.

At the beginning of next year, the Kunpeng 700, which has a better performance than Qualcomm APQ 8064, will also have a 3G baseband plug-in.

If the Xphone 2 is launched on Qualcomm 4G this year, the baseband of Qualcomm processor and next year will be replaced with the self-developed Kunpeng 700+ Winglong 3000, which will not support 4G.

4G becomes 3G, and the more you upgrade, the worse it becomes. That's all?

Next, after the mass production of Kunpeng series chips, they will completely replace Qualcomm and Nvidia chips.

Wang Yi made up his mind to do 3G on Xphone 2 and wait until the Xphone 3 in September next year to do 4G.

The Winglong 4000 baseband integrated with Kunpeng 9000 SOC is the 4G baseband.

As for the Xphone 2 in September this year, we can only use 3G for a year. Anyway, domestic 3G will only start to advance in 2014.
