16. Idlers who can't be free to ask for monthly salary!

Special needs wards, also known as single wards, are usually reserved for wealthy families.

In Tongren, surgeries generally adopt an appointment system. On weekdays, it is not too busy and everything is in good order. However, in the past two days, there have been a few more surgeries without appointments, and all the special needs wards have been occupied.

This left doctors in other departments helpless for a while.

But when I heard that these three special needs wards were all patients of Jiang Lai, a new colleague who came to work after New Year's Day, I had nothing to say.

That technique of replanting severed fingers on one hand will probably cause a big storm in the world's medical system. People with skills will be respected wherever they go. Even in this era, it is the same.

Of course, as a doctor, you still want to see everyone, even if they are in different departments.

"Special needs No. 1." Jiang came to look at the two patrol officers standing outside the special needs ward No. 1, and knew that the anonymous person inside probably had some information.

"Doctor Jiang!" The patrolman knew Jiang Lai, "Are you coming to see a patient?"

Jiang Lai nodded, "Have you been standing all night?"

"No, no, we just changed shifts this morning."

Jiang Lai nodded, "I'm here to see the postoperative patients today."

"Okay, please come in."

Jiang Lai agreed, entered the ward, and saw Anonymous on the bed, "Hello, I am Jiang Lai, the doctor who performed the surgery on you."

"Dr. Jiang?" The man turned his head and looked at the person who came. He was wearing a white coat and had an impressive temperament. "I heard that you performed the surgery on me. Thank you."

"What's your name?" Jiang Lai nodded calmly, lifted a corner of the gauze on the wound and looked at it. There was no redness or swelling in the wound.

"Liu Yuan." Anonymous frowned slightly, but still answered seriously.

"The wound is okay. Don't exercise strenuously. Fortunately, the enemy's gun is not very injurious. But now that you have lost a spleen, your immunity will be lower in the future. Try to eat more meat when you eat. If you don't have much money, eat more.

Some eggs." Jiang Lai covered the gauze back and asked, "Did you change the medicine this morning?"

"Yes, I have changed it." Liu Yuan nodded, "Thank you."

"It's okay." Jiang Lai took a roll of tape and fixed the gauze again, "Have a good rest."

"Dr. Jiang, I heard that you reattached a man's finger. Is it true?" Liu Yuan couldn't help but asked curiously. The nurse who changed his dressing had said this too many times.

"Yeah." Jiang Lai nodded.

"Is that... really the first of its kind in the world?"

"In this era, it should be so." Jiang Lai thought for a moment and nodded.

"Thank you." Liu Yuan couldn't help but feel excited in his heart. As a Chinese, he felt honored.

"I just did what a doctor should do. Although I don't know why the Japanese want to kill you, you can trust my brother, oh, that is Jiang Jikai. At least, he will not be an enemy externally."

Jiang Lai smiled and said, "Okay, have a good rest. I'm going to see another patient."

"Thanks."

Jiang Lai didn't respond, so he left the special needs ward No. 1 and went to No. 2, which was Zhao Xiaosi's ward.

Zhao Xiaosi seemed very tired. His mother was reading the newspaper, and there were fresh fruits prepared on the coffee table next to her.

"Doctor Jiang!" Zhao's mother was very excited when she saw Jiang Lai. She had always wanted to talk to Jiang Lai alone.

"Yeah." Jiang Lai nodded.

Zhao Xiaosi heard the voice and opened his eyes, "Are you here?"

"How was your day?"

"It's okay. Although it still hurts, I feel much better." Zhao Xiaosi said.

"Don't worry in the early stage. You need to give the tendons and nerves and blood vessels the conditions to recover." Jiang Lai smiled, "Basically, he should be alive."

"I know." Zhao Xiaosi also had a smile in his eyes, "Anyway, thank you."

"There's nothing to thank you for. You still have to litigate with me after you're discharged from the hospital." Jiang Lai raised his eyebrows, "Just be glad that you are still my patient now."

Zhao Xiaosi couldn't laugh or cry, "I've been really annoyed by reporters lately..."

"You don't have to see them either." Jiang Lai gave Zhao Xiaosi a strange look.

"But they are all big figures in Shanghai's press...some of them come to see me in the name of my sisters."

"Okay, anyway, make sure you take some rest."

"knew."

"I'm going to see other patients."

"Um."

The conversation with Zhao Xiaosi was quite peaceful, Jiang Lai also left the ward with a smile, and then Zhao's mother couldn't help but follow him out.

"Mom, don't go!" Zhao Xiaosi shouted, but did not shout back.

"Dr. Jiang," Zhao's mother's tone was full of pleading, "Xiao Si has already suffered the crime of amputating his fingers. Can you please show your respect?"

Jiang Lai looked at Zhao's haggard mother and sighed inwardly, "Auntie, the day before yesterday, I really almost died there. What if I die...how will the matter be handled?"

Mother Zhao was silent, then knelt down with a pop.

Jiang Lai rolled his eyes, these were all bad habits from the old days.

"I apologize to you on Xiaosi's behalf. If you want to go to jail, I'll go..."

Jiang Lai rubbed his brows and turned around to enter the Special Needs Ward No. 3. He didn't want to talk more with Zhao's mother. Speaking of which, Zhao Si's growth was only thanks to his parents' doting.

Zhao Wu understood, but Zhao's mother didn't know yet. Maybe she knew, but she still didn't want her son to suffer.

"Dr. Jiang." John stood up and became excited. He read the exclusive interview with Jiang Lai in the Continental Daily today and found out that Jiang Lai had also gone to the United States for training and further study. His favorable impression of him skyrocketed, "Are you here?"

"Well, how is Ms. Dana? Are you ventilating?" Jiang Lai looked at John and nodded.

"Well, it's ventilated."

"That's fine." Jiang Lai also tore off a corner of the gauze and looked at the wound. There was nothing abnormal so far. "The wound is quite good. You can comfort Ms. Dana more. A good mood is conducive to recovery."

"Okay, I will." John agreed, "Dr. Jiang, I heard before that Tongren Hospital wants to expand?"

Jiang looked at John and said, "That's what Professor Byrne said, but he is applying for funds from the school and the board of directors."

"I think Tongren Hospital, as a hospital opened by American missionaries, should be expanded. Medicine knows no borders."

"Thank you for your understanding." Jiang Lai smiled. Indeed, medicine has no borders, and he will certainly not be stingy with technologies that can benefit mankind.

It's just that doctors have national boundaries.

He can now treat Americans without any scruples, but he will not treat Japanese without scruples.

"It's me who should thank you."

"Okay, there's no need to thank you. I'm going to leave first. If you need anything, you can call the doctors and nurses directly."

"I know."

Jiang Lai left the ward with a smile. The social status of doctors in this era still made him feel comfortable. It was really different from that of later generations.
