Chapter 9 - Doomsday Prophecy

…………

Jaina was heading to the place where she had made an appointment with Antonidas. Unlike usual, this time she did not lose the sense of time.

A lot of things had happened in the past few months, which kept her busy and diverted her attention. A powerful mage named Kel'Thuzad angered the Kirin Tor because he was obsessed with necromancy that violated the laws of nature.

, he was severely reprimanded and ordered to stop the experiment immediately, and then he mysteriously disappeared.

Something also happened in the Year of Disaster. The news that came was shocking. The escaped orc named Thrall now established himself as the chief of the new tribe, and began to attack the holding camp and release the orc captives. Durnholde was soon captured by this self-proclaimed tribe.

The power summoned by the chieftain was razed to the ground, and the outside world is rumored to have gained new power, a more primitive power. Blackmoore died, but it is said that not many people felt sorry for him. Although it is not sure what the new tribe will do to the people here.

It means nothing, but at least there will be no war in the short term.

There were voices, one of them angry. This was unusual, and Jaina stopped.

"As I said to Terenas, your people are imprisoned in their own land. I reiterate to you now - humanity is facing annihilation. The tide of darkness is striking again, and the entire world hangs on the edge of war!

"This was a loud and powerful male voice, and Jaina didn't recognize who it was.

"Ah, now I know who you are. You are the self-righteous prophet mentioned in King Terenas' letter. I am as uninterested in listening to you as he is." The person who spoke this time was Antonidas. Although

The stranger was very eager, but he remained unmoved. The girl, who was full of curiosity in her heart, encouraged herself. She hid with invisibility and continued to eavesdrop. She approached as quietly as possible, and now she could see the two people talking.

The man Antonidas mocked as a "prophet" wore a black feather cloak, while her mentor was writing a copy.

"Then you should be wiser than that king! The end is coming!"

"I've already said, I'm not interested in listening to this nonsense." Antonidas said calmly, word by word, and sent the other person away. Jaina was familiar with this tone.

The prophet was silent for a while and sighed. "Then I am wasting my time."

Under Jaina's surprised gaze, the stranger's appearance suddenly became blurry, and it shrank. In an instant, where the man in the hood and robe had been standing, there was now only a raven with feathers as black as the night. It was disappointed.

With a cry, it soared into the sky, flapped its wings and disappeared.

Antonidas looked at the uninvited guest who had left and said, "You can show up now, Jaina."

Jaina's cheeks turned red due to embarrassment, so she had to lift the spell and stepped forward. "I'm sorry, mentor, but..."

"I'm used to your curiosity, kid." Antonidas chuckled and said, "That madman threatened that the end of the world is coming. I guess he exaggerated the recent 'plague' in Lordaeron."

"Plague?" Jaina was surprised.

Antonidas sighed and called his apprentice to come forward and hold his branch-like hand. "You should remember that I sent some messengers to Lordaeron not long ago."

"I thought it was about the orcs."

Antonidas recited a spell, and soon they appeared in his private quarters. Jaina liked it here, she liked the chaos here, the smell of parchment, leather and ink in the air, and some large ancient chairs

Antonidas motioned for her to sit down, and at the same time summoned a large jar with a snap of his fingers, and poured honey for the two of them.

"Well, that's on the agenda, but the representative I sent believes there's a more serious threat imminent."

"More serious than the Horde showing up again?"

"Orcs can be dealt with at any time, but disease cannot. I have received some reports of some kind of plague circulating in the north. The Kirin Tor must always pay attention."

Jaina stared at him and frowned. She took a sip of honey. Since it was a disease, why not go to the priest instead of the mage? Unless...

"You think it's caused by some sort of magic in nature?"

He nodded his head. "It's very possible. Jaina, that's why I plan to send you to those places to investigate."

Jaina almost choked, "Me?"

He smiled gently. "Yes. You have learned almost everything I can teach you. It's time for you to leave here and use them outside."

Nathanos was sitting on the fallen tree trunk, teasing his two shepherd dogs and throwing out the branches they picked up again and again. Everyone present except him was full of worry, and the most anxious one was

Arthas Nathanos did not say to him in the tone of elders and teachings like Uther did, "You are a paladin, you should calm down." He felt that Arthas had changed and became more and more...

He has become more and more energetic and decisive in doing things. He is very similar to his former self. The only drawback is that he is the same as himself - he doesn't like to listen to other people's opinions. If it were him before, he would definitely stand by Alsace's side.

, but now, he is just fulfilling his duties. This phenomenon makes it impossible for the relationship between the two to return to the time when they could talk and laugh.

But Arthas still needed his help...

Nathanos smiled inadvertently. Yes, he received an order, an order from the prince, and he needed to return to him to face the hidden threat together.

"Why aren't you here yet?"

The twenty-sixth time he complained. Nathanos heard Arthas' angry and desperate voice again. He had to understand why Arthas was like this. When he came here, he and Arthas

The guard captain Farik, whom Si has known for many years, chatted about the prince’s current situation.

Terenas had already sent Arthas and Uther to suppress the orc uprising. He heard about the defense battle in the town of Steinblade. Arthas repelled the orcs, but failed to stop them.

The fact that the residents of that small town were captured by the other side. This was a failed battle, and Nathanos believed that the prince would deeply blame himself for this.

Now he kept walking back and forth between the intersections. His breathing could be seen in the cold air, and his growing irritation was even more obvious. "Nathanos!" he finally thought of him,

"We've been waiting here for four hours, four hours! Can you tell me why Jaina hasn't gotten here yet?"

This question reminded him of several years ago, when Vereesa had complained to the mage Ronin for a long time, but the elf was more patient and she waited for three days.

"Mages are usually a little late. They have little sense of time."

Before he finished speaking, he heard an inarticulate roar from the distance, like a lion suddenly awakening.

Alsace turned around, weapon in hand. Just as he was about to rush over, a slender female figure crossed the hill and entered his field of vision, running towards this side.

Behind... were two ogres.

"Holy Light! We have to help her!"

"No need, Captain." Arthas said, recognizing that it was Jaina. "Let's see if the little girl from Dalaran is suitable to follow us."

Nathanos glanced at Arthas strangely, thinking that of course she could do it, and neatly. Jaina turned around with precise timing and began to summon flames. Arthas thought, if he wanted to do it for a certain party,

Those who felt sorry must be those two poor confused ogres. The flames licked their thick gray bodies, making them howl wildly in pain. What frightened them the most was that such severe pain actually came from in front of them.

This petite human woman. One of them still knew how to run away, but the other one seemed to be unwilling to let go and continued to chase after it. There was only a muffled sound, and Jaina added an orange wave of fire to it, and the ogre immediately

He fell down screaming and was soon burned to death.

She also used her fire magic very well. Nathanos smiled, and Jaina answered Arthas with practical actions, she can!

The lady wearing a purple rune cloak patted the dust on her hands. She didn't even sweat at all.

"Thank God, it's finally here." Arthas said in a long tone, while walking towards the female mage who broke into the camp. "The special envoy sent by the Kirin Tor is not slow at all."

Jaina Proudmoore heard Arthas' dissatisfaction, but was not embarrassed.

"There are many things that need to be prepared, Your Highness Arthas. Moreover, it seems that not everyone is as impatient as you." Arthas followed her eyes and turned his head to look, and found that Nathanos's hound was wagging its tail.

Licking his master's palm with his tongue.

"Yes," he said, with a hint of anger in his voice. "It's been a long time indeed." The atmosphere became awkward until Alsace cleared his throat and said, "Well, I think we should get going."

Set off? Nathanos stood up subconsciously after hearing the order. Even Jaina felt it was inappropriate. They had just met, and they should at least convey information to each other, so that it would appear to be cooperation.

"We should let Lady Jaina rest for a while, Your Highness. By the way, we can also hear the Kirin Tor's views on the plague that has spread in Lordaeron."

"You can say that on the way. Now we're in a hurry, Nathanos."

Jaina looked down at the soil on the ground and said, "So, Your Highness, do you know anything about the plague we are going to detect?"

"Not too much," Arthas had to admit. He said as he walked: "I have just taken over this matter. Uther and I have been fighting the orcs recently."

She smiled and nodded, but her brows began to frown. "That's right, although I'm not sure about the specific situation yet. That's why my mentor Antonidas sent me to observe the situation and report to him. We should go

Look at the villages along the King's Road and talk to the villagers and see if they can tell us anything useful. With any luck, they haven't been infected yet, and maybe it's just a local epidemic."

This is self-comfort! Everyone present understood that if Antonidas felt that the situation was not right, he would not send his most proud disciple to understand the situation. Of course, King Terenas would not send his own son.

Arthas suddenly changed the subject. "I was wondering if this might have something to do with the orcs." Nathanos narrowed his eyes slightly, and the prince continued: "Many orcs have already escaped from the internment camp."

"Not everything is related to the orcs." Nathanos tried to correct his mistake. If it weren't for Terenas' order, I'm afraid Arthas wouldn't care about the situation here at all, and he would focus more on it.

On the orcs. After hearing what Nathanos said, he felt even more uncomfortable. "Of course I won't make false accusations. They are worshiping the devil."

"What?" Jaina opened her eyes wide, "I thought the demons had been eliminated long ago. The orcs no longer use that kind of evil magic."

Arthas shrugged. "You can ask everyone else here except Nathanos. While I was protecting Stannbrad, the orcs were already looting the villagers. We fought all the way to their camp.

, but...three people...were sacrificed."

Nathanos held his breath and listened as usual, not just with his ears, but focusing on every word and sentence with all his heart.

"The orcs sacrificed villagers to the devil. They also threatened that these were just trivial sacrifices - obviously they wanted more. More people, people of the Menethil family."

His breathing could be seen in the cold air, and his growing annoyance was even more obvious.
