Chapter 23 - Merrill East Wind

The man pinched his hand and then took it back and continued to rush. The footsteps gradually faded away like lightly wings, and the ravens were wailing...

He had gone for two days after he had received the news from Egwen before he arrived at Theramore. There were only a few guards at the gate of the city, each of which was a veteran of Kurtiras. He was unwilling to disturb him. Egwen said that it would be best not to let him see him.

The darkness gradually hovered over his head, making a hungry crow sound. Some ravens seemed to be following him to see if they could still get a delicious meal of wind snake meat.

Night soon came, and he sneaked in without realizing it. When he appeared in front of Egwen, the guardian's mother was fiddling with a pot of flowers and plants.

"Are you here?" Eggwen was not surprised by the person who suddenly stood in front of him, but instead said with a smile: "Long time no see Merriel."

When his name was no longer a secret, he pulled down his hood and exposed his entire face to the lights in the house. His hairline was mixed with gray silk, and his hands were tightly tucked into his sleeves. His pale skin color made people realize that this was not a living person. Surprisingly, magic would be pounding from time to time between his fingers.

"It's a long time no see!" said Merriel. "I didn't even expect you to show up here."

“This is my new life.”

"Then I'm happy for you, Egwen." Merriel laughed and teased, "When I heard you were serving a little girl, I thought you were developing a new guardian."

"Even if I want, then Jaina will agree." Eggwen did not give his old friend a cup of tea or snack as usual, because Merrell didn't need these things.

"Don't take it seriously, I'm joking. So...what are you asking me to do?"

While looking at him, you can feel a sense of indescribable mystery. No matter how careful Eggwen observes, he can't see the clues. In a trance, Eggwen felt that Merrell had the temperament of a guardian, but the strength of an old friend is more important than temperament.

"There is indeed something very important, Dongfeng."

"Tell me." Merriel no longer thought about the easy-goingness he had just now. Only when things were urgent would Egwen call his last name.

"Have you heard of the undead?"

"Isn't that the one standing in front of you?"

"No!" Eggwen shook his head, "I'm not talking about you, nor Lordaeron or the Lich King."

"As far as I know, there are no other undead except what you said."

Hearing him say this, Eggwen stood up, "It seems that he has hidden himself well."

Merell frowned, and what the old man in front of him seemed to be indirectly sarcastic about his ignorance. "Are there any other undead forces?"

"It's true, and it's right in Kalimdo."

When Dongfeng noticed that Eggwen said this, his tone became very low, so low that only the two of them could hear it. "This sounds like a secret, so you called me here, do you hope I find them?"

"I hope you join them!"

Merriel's ears itched, and he thought he had heard it wrong. "What?"

"I hope you join them." Eggwen repeated again, with a look of expectation. Merriel's expression became even more serious. He began to secretly use magic on Eggwen to check whether she was controlled or something unspeakable forced her to say this.

After a series of processes, he found that everything was normal in Egwen, but there was no powerful magic.

"I trust Eggwen." Dongfeng finally spoke, his sonorous voice was like a sword unsheathed. He paused for a moment, as if giving Eggwen time to adapt to the sharp blade. "Why do you want me to do this?"

"Then I have to tell you the story of the Forgotten Leader."

...

When the meeting was held, Gizlok didn't come because Nathanos told him that starting now, nothing was more important to him than to create a goblin company.

"Then let's start." Nathanos said after scanning everyone one by one. "Now, the number of Forsaken people is as high as thousands, and there will be more in the future, but Maraton has limited space, so we must find the next goal.

"The terrifying guards I trained are ready, master. They can participate in the battle at any time." Lasovios never lag behind anyone, and his attitude was exchanged for Nathanos' nod and nodded in appreciation.

Veronara noticed that Belmont did not attend the parliament, and the leader of the Blade usually sat next to Nathanos, but this time it was replaced by a Forsaken who was responsible for the record.

"The Dark Ranger will be the vanguard of this operation." When Veronara was imagining, Nathanos had already started to speak, catching her off guard. "No problem, right?" said the Withering Ranger.

Veronara blinked and asked, "Sir Wither, you haven't said where we are going to attack?"

There was a sudden question on the conference table, and others wanted to know.

"What we are going to is another tomb, the tomb of an ancient demigod," Nathanos continued. "Agamagan, the god of wild boars. One of the gods of wilderness who fell in the ancient battle. The place where he fell was near the Thousand Needle Stone Forest. Now, that is the home of the people of wild boars."

"Please wait a moment, sir." Veronara stood up excitedly. "When you went to Lordaeron, we conducted an investigation into the entire Kalimdo." She paused. "The Thousand Needles Stone Forest is home to a few taurens. They are members of the tribe. What should we do if we...we are discovered? You have said that the actions of the Forgotten are based on situations that others cannot see."

"It seems you are a sensible person." Nathanos chuckled, smoothing the wrinkles on his guard's hand. "The Tauren will not find it." This sentence attracted more doubts. "After Agamagan died, his huge body merged into the earth, forming a black forest of thorns, and that place was called Razor Highlands." Nathanos smiled cruelly, "I know you will definitely have some doubts about this action."

Lasovios raised his left hand, and he was the most active at first, but now, as Nathanos said, he also had questions. "I don't understand, Master. The mission of the Forgotten One should be to avenge the Lich King. Even if we want to expand our strength, we should attack the territory of the Scourge, rather than occupying the boar's nest."

Those present, including North, supported Las Veios's opinion.

"In fact, I'm just trying to deal with the Scourge. Razor Heights is the home of the Wild Boars on the surface, but in fact it has been infiltrated by the Scourge."

…………

Red Dragon Christasa (note: this red dragon is not the last boss of the magic pivot, but the NPC of the Razor Highland) rarely comes to Kalimdo. She is more willing to stay in the Vermillion Barrier and serve the Queen. But her responsibilities are that the red dragons must always protect the life in this world. Whenever life is killed, Alextasa can always have a foresight.

"I heard the sound of a fire of life extinguishing in Kalimdo."

This is the original words of Alextasa. As a capable general of the Red Dragon Queen, Christasa traveled thousands of miles to the West Continent to investigate what was going on. Compared to the common green eastern kingdom, Christasa is more curious about the desolate central Kalimdo. The geography here is volatile. When she crosses the wasteland, she sees thick black thorns, like twisted teeth and like the skeleton of giant creatures. In short, such an environment is very abnormal and always reminds of evil magic.

Christasa wanted to go and explore, but her destination was not here. According to the Queen's instructions, the place she was going to is in the western coastal areas of Kalimdo.

After passing through two areas of towering mountains and quiet jungle, the desolate land welcomed a new guest. However, when Christasa saw that this was a desert, she couldn't help but wonder if this place would really have life. If it was erased, would it be related to the harsh environment?

The scorching sun shone on her, and the red dragon had to stop on a ridge to rest. Nothing was seen except for the gang of Kodo beasts, but she soon discovered the abandoned village. The house was built of leather and wooden frames, but no one was there, and there was a dead silence. Christasa even wanted to talk to the souls here with the special ability of the red dragon, but received no response.

"What the hell happened?" Christasa was confused, and her eyes turned to the southwest of the desolate land, the last place she had not yet investigated.

………

Maraton

"Amenar, the king of ice, was there when the Burning Legion invaded Mount Haigal a few years ago, but many people did not notice him. When Archmond was defeated, Amenar stayed in Kalimdo and enslaved the wild boar people in the Razor Heights." Belmont put down the information in his hand, and it was time for others to speak.

"A Lich? I never expected the Scourge's hand had reached in front of us." Veronara murmured.

Nathanos stood up and focused everyone's eyes on himself. He said: "When I was looking for the place where the Forgotten Ones were, the first thing I thought of was Razor Heights. That place was very close to Ratchet City and had the same geographical conditions as Maraton, but because our strength was too weak and the existence of Amenar, this idea was temporarily put on hold."

"And we're going to kill that lich now." Lasueveos clenched his fists and slapped it on his knees, "I'm asking to participate in this battle."

"Even if you don't ask, I need your strength." Nathanos said that, and saw Lasovios laughing. "There are many wild boars in the Razor Heights, and our combat plan is very simple. I will raid Yamenar's nest with the Dark Ranger. Lasovios and the terrifying guards clear out all the wild boars in the thorn forest. Never let one go."
