Chapter 45 - Werewolves

…………

This is a simple camp. Veronara visited and returned to the main tent. In order to hide, except for a few ships used for transportation, the other ships were docked on the island not far away.

"I've seen the camp." Veronara said before she could see what was happening in the tent. She thought that there was only Tatsel inside, but there was a new guest outside the fleet commander.

"Who are you?" The leader of the Dark Ranger frowned. It was supposed to be a masked undead standing in her position, and the purple dagger on her body was very conspicuous.

"You must be Veronara, the commander of the Rangers. I am Lilian Voss, the spy who was placed in the Plagueland and the Silver Pine Forest by the Master of the Withering One." Lilian took off her mask and smiled.

Veronara was stunned for a while, and suddenly realized that she was the helper she was looking for, her "guidance". However, Veronara was not happy. Could it be that their camp was so conspicuous, and it was not long before Lilian found it.

"I'm glad to see you, Lilian. But we don't have much time, the situation in the Eastern Kingdom is very complicated. Do you have anything to tell me?"

Like Nathanos, she likes to get straight to the topic. Lilian nodded, and she spread the map with the faint moonlight and pointed to a castle mark on it, "This is our target this time Shadow Tooth Castle. Now it is not the undead or human, but a more terrifying creature: werewolf."

"Werewolf?" The other two Forgotten Ones said in surprise. They had seen the Scourge, the Demons, and the Blood Crusades, but they were terrible but unknown, new enemies. "What are werewolfs?" Veronara asked first after coming back to her senses.

"A half-human and half-wolf creature. Many years ago, a Dalaran mage named Arugao used magic to summon those werewolfs to resist the Scourge. He succeeded, and also controlled these werewolfs to capture Baron Sylvalein's territory. The Baron's castle is the current Shadow Tooth Castle."

"Why do we think about how to deal with them compared to how they came about?" Tatsel interjected, "Think about it carefully, creatures like werewolf should not be so easy to deal with."

"We have no experience in dealing with werewolfs." Veronara looked at Lilian Voss like help. The other party was a little surprised and shook his head quickly.

"Don't look at me, the task given to me by Lord Desert is to monitor the every move of the forces in the plagueland, but I did not ask me to study werewolf."

"It seems that this is the current problem. Since that's the case, I will take some dark rangers to test the strength of the werewolf first. If I can handle it, I will start attacking."

Silver Moon City

"I absolutely disagree!" Romans roared with his voice, the magical energy on his body became a little confused with his anger. He was now very familiar to others.

Even if he faced the eyes of the great magician, Aurelia would not retreat at all. The Regent looked very calm, which made Romans, who had stood up from his seat, feel a little afraid.

"Is Lord Romans' attitude the attitude of His Highness the Prince or your personal one?"

The mage was speechless for a moment, clenched his fists, and expressed all his anger on his body movements.

"His Highness Regent has been said." The Ranger Lord Rothema said, trying to smooth things over for Romans, and to keep the meeting going. "I see that this topic is temporarily put on hold. It is not too late to wait until Romans reports to the Prince and then discuss it."

"When that time, the lost land we recovered in Ghostlands had long been taken away by the Scourge." Aurelia scolded, and her words made Lothama's head lower. Quel'thalas did recover from the previous one, but it could only maintain order in the Evergau Forest and Silver Moon City.

"We have no choice, Romans, do you understand what I say?" Rothema began to show his anger: "If we don't help Sylvanas we will throw away all the Quel'thalas territory south of the Alandal River!"

"Then don't want those territories!" Romans roared. Aurelia's two slender eyebrows shook suddenly, and anger rose from her chest. She looked at Romans slowly, and a shocked Rothema appeared in the light of her light.

"Don't want those territories?" Her voice increased significantly. "Whether it is Xindore today or Queldore in the past, do you know how many elves have sacrificed their lives to defend this land? How many will die in battle? How dare you say you don't want those territories? Is this what a blood elves should say?"

"That's better than living under the roof of the alliance!"

Aurelia's mouth opened and closed. During the years she served as Regent, despite countless disputes with Romans, Romans had never been so defiant. Now, the great magician is trembling.

"Don't forget that His Highness the Prince almost died at the hands of the Alliance." Romans said softly. Aurelia suddenly realized that his tone was almost begging, which made her feel inexplicably... horror. "The Alliance is not trustworthy at all."

Aurelia clenched her fists: "Without allies, we cannot get any material assistance, and we cannot even conduct foreign trade." The Regent's tone had a sense of oppression: "His Prince has been looking for a cure for his addiction. And my duty is to ensure the safety of the people and Quel'thalas." She paused, "Please tell Your Prince that finding allies is imperative. If he feels that the alliance is not trustworthy, then let other forces replace it."

"Who else will help us?"

"There will be!" Aurelia replied tiredly. Romans has always been so difficult, but the Regent was not so easy to deal with. She stood up, "For Sindore." She said softly, her pupils seemed to spread: "For those who died."

Romans was speechless. He was reluctant and unable to think about what Aurelia's words were suggesting. The silence between the two lasted for a long time until the end, the Regent turned around and said: "Tell Prince Kelthas about my decision." Then she left, without saying a word.

The great magistrate's mood could not calm down for a long time, and his blood seemed to be extremely cold. He watched Aurelia's back disappear behind a corner.

"This is simply a slaughter! She is the Regent, not the King!" Romans shivered in anger, and the knuckles of the staff were squeaking: "Whether the prince agrees or not, she will do this, right?"

"Romance." Rothema's calm voice pulled him back to reality. He turned to his friend, but found that the Ranger Lord was looking at him with a strange look, as if he had seen him for the first time.

"Is Your Highness really so disgusted with us looking for foreign aid?" Lothama looked at Romans, and the expression on his face proved that he was not joking.

"Your Highness never made a statement." The great mage replied.
