Chapter 26 - Overwhelmed

…………

Two hours before the meeting, Danas looked up many books and quickly wrote down what he needed. When he held Sylvanas's information, his expression immediately became serious. The commander prayed in his heart to restore his calmness.

All the people he called: consultant Crave, great wizard Ferintus, and Sylvanas. When Danas informed everyone of the latest news, only Crave could remain calm.

The reaction of the great wizard Ferintus was completely expected by Danas. The wizard never complained. "This is not new news at all." Ferintus said excitedly, "The elves only captured the Storm Fortress not long ago! That is the closest place to the twisted void. Don't forget, Turayan disappeared there many years ago!"

"That doesn't mean that Kelthus has become a lackey of the Burning Legion." Sylvanas reminded him that the female elf has no position in the Castle of Glory, but is very tough with anyone. "He knows who he is and still remembers his responsibilities."

"Are you defending him?" Flintus turned to Sylvanas.

"Dare you say you won't impose the accusation against Kelthas on other elves next?"

"Enough!" Danas stopped the two of them. Here he had the most say. "Crave, what do you think?"

Crave nodded, "Illidan has many subordinates in the outer realm, such as evil orcs, Nagas, demons, and elves. Compared with the previous three, Kelthus's blood elves pose the least threat to us, and he has never sent troops to threaten the Fortress of Glory. According to our years of investigation, Kelthus has been asking for magic, and he should also go to the Void Storm for this purpose."

In a moment, Danas saw Sylvanas's face soothing a lot.

"But we can't take it lightly," Crave continued, "if the astrologer is saying it is true, we must prepare in advance?"

…………

"Has Kelthas's army rebelled?"

After a great battle, Nathanos sat on a secluded hill drinking water and listened to the report of a death hunter.

"This is something that happened not long ago. The news came from Shatas and was only obtained by us until Galadal."

Nathanos thought about it and judged what might happen next. There was no powerful magical energy in the place of Shatas. Unless the Blood Elf Prince and Shatas City had any deep hatred, he would not easily send troops to attack. There was another possibility, that was what Illidan Rage Wind asked him to do so. Nathanos felt that the second possibility was greater.

"Are there any blood elves in the foreign troops sent to attack Shatas?"

"Yes, Master." The Death Hunter nodded affirmatively.

"What's the news over the Dark Temple? Did Illidan not provide him with help?"

"Not at all, the temple did not even send out a soldier."

The folds between Nathanos' eyebrows immediately loosened, and he was startled by a bold assumption that appeared in his heart: there might be a disagreement between Illidan and Kelthas.

"Follow Kelthas, if necessary, I will go to the Void Storm." Nathanos waved his hand and signaled the other party to continue reporting the next news.

"This is news from Azeroth. The Master Dalaran organization Violet Eye has recently started to move again. They are summoning the warriors to explore Karazan."

Nathanos continued to wave, and the news was not important to him. He knew very well what dangerous creatures were inside the Tower of Karazan, and it would be difficult for outsiders to penetrate Medivh's former residence without him interfering.

"The next thing is your special investigation into Lasovios." The withered person's eyes began to move to the Forgotten, who reported the news. "The instructor has not taken any abnormal actions recently, but those who know him say he has become much quieter recently."

Nathanos wiped the water stains on the corner of his mouth. Regarding Lasuevos, he had time to go back and take a look. He also thought it was time to remove the spiritual magic that controlled him and then decide how to deal with the Black Dragon Princess.

"Is there any news about Merell?"

"The great wizard did not return to the base of Naglan."

…………

"Why should you hide your identity?" Danas put the information sent from Stormwind City in front of Sylvanas. At this moment, the only two of them were left in the conference room.

The female elf's face suddenly disappeared, and she still raised her head. "If this affects whether I can serve in the Castle of Glory, then I think concealment is the best choice."

Danas walked around the table, held the report in his hand, walked to the heating brazier and threw it in.

"No one will know about it anymore."

"You're not going to expose me, Commander?" said Sylvanas, "Why don't you do that?"

"Even though almost twenty years have passed, I still remember Aurelia's contribution to the war against the orcs." Danas's voice was sincere, and the fire was beating on the veteran's face. "I have heard about her..." This made Sylvanas's heart tighten, "Her decision to join the tribe is regrettable." The female elf breathed a sigh of relief. She thought Aurelia would win sympathy with her tragic exchanges.

"She can't represent everyone, commander," said Sylvanas. "I believe that you didn't drive me away because you saw this."

"But this does not mean that I can trust you." Sylvanas sank with Thorbain's words. "In fact, it was because of your presence just now that I did not reveal the truth about the occurrence of the Outlands for so many years." Danas said unconcealedly, "You may not know that no good things have happened to your clan since he followed his master to take over the Outlands. He has almost plundered all the magic resources of the Outlands."

"I don't know, but if you know what happened to Quel'thalas, you can understand everything Prince Kel'thas did." Sylvanas's voice became nervous without knowing it. She thought of the Blood Knight who was gradually becoming more powerful in Silver Moon City. Only a few people knew the source of their power, and Sylvanas was one of them. "He hasn't done anything that is harmful to the world."

"Do you know how he treated the prisoners of war?" asked Danas. "If you want, I will tell you in detail. But I can tell you now, Sylvanas Windrunner. He will never be the prince you know. He has been driven crazy by the temptation of magic." His voice was strong and powerful, but he couldn't stop trembling slightly. "I feel a chill when I think about it now. I have heard people say that he even began to draw other people's magic to relieve his own pain."

"This is impossible!" Sylvanas shouted, "Romance...isn't that."

"I don't know who you are talking about, but if you want to understand the chaos in the Outlands, you have to see it with your own eyes," Danas continued. "It's also an opportunity, an opportunity to gain a foothold in the league."

"To be against your own prince to get a reputation?" Sylvanas smiled bitterly. How different is this approach to Aurelia?

This is different!

The female elf reminded herself that if Kelthus was in a woe to the demon, would he betray his people to them? "This is simply a deception, Kelthus... If he is really as you said, it would be a huge disaster for Quelthalas."

"So we need to investigate clearly. I want to hand over this task to you, and you are the most suitable one."

"Why?"

"Go to Shatas," said Danas at last, "Go to find your fellow citizens, they are called Astrologists."

"Okay." Sylvanas replied readily, "If everything was true..." the elf calmed herself for a moment before saying in a calmer tone, "What kind of action would you take?"

"He is the prince of the Blood Elves. His people in Azeroth have joined the tribe. After finding out, let the tribe solve it." Danas was looking through the clues about the Void Storm at this moment, "We have a lot to deal with. We will soon attack the Hellfire Fortress. But this has already made us unable to sleep at night. At this moment, we cannot separate our energy to deal with another war that may be about to happen."

"You are so mean," Sylvanas said calmly: "You have a guess in your heart, and you believe that it must be right."

"It's just twenty years of experience." When Danas said the word "experience", he seemed to be gently strangled. "I have seen too many people who were righteous at the beginning and finally fell into extremes."

"For example..." Sylvanas asked.

"Don't talk about this anymore." Danas turned, "You can go, ma'am."

…………

Merell had almost never thought that he would appear in front of a pile of black dragon corpses. The scene was spectacular, with a large number of black dragons standing across the stone thorns of the Blade Mountain. It was like a sign of a battle, and it was also reminding outsiders that the overlord of this land could not even deal with the giant dragon.

Merriel was more confused than shock.

How did the landform here be formed? He followed the Black Dragon and his daughter to the area north of the outer region. It felt like a desert, but there were three different terrains in the area: rock canyon and forest grassland. Four high mountains formed a unique geographical location around it. The sharp stones as high as mountains are particularly conspicuous. Merell was knowledgeable. He guessed that the rocks turned into sharp cones under weathering, like several sharp knives extending from the mountain. It was perfect to call them here Blade Mountain.

The mage gradually withdrew his gaze. He must always pay attention to the two dragons. If he missed a certain conversation between them, he might have missed some important information.

"So many black dragons... what did my father experience here back then?" Onyxia couldn't help but cover her mouth before accepting all this.

Cinestra looked at her with a sharp look. "Be careful, the miserable situation here has shown that there is a threat to deal with the black dragon. I have investigated it. It is said that Nesario once fought with an ugly creature called Goron here. He was defeated, and those Goron's leaders were also awarded the title of "Dragon Slayer."

"So arrogant. I don't believe there are mortals who can defeat their father." Onyxia said, "they must have used some mean method."

"It doesn't matter." Hinestella turned into a human form and approached the black dragon corpse on the mountain. "The purpose of our coming here is to obtain the essence of these black dragons. They were all pierced by stones and broke their stomachs, but some of the strength remained in their bone marrow."

"If there is, why didn't my father take it away? He would throw the corpses of these black dragons here?" Onyxia asked, looking at the corpses suspiciously, including many giant dragons like her.

The flower of the Black Dragon Princess reminded Cinestra, and she was also confused. Logically speaking, Nesario has been ordering Nefarion to study the colorful dragons, so he will definitely hand over the rich resources here to the Black Dragon Prince. No matter what, he will definitely pay attention to this place.

"I didn't think about this," said Hinestra. "I didn't notice any abnormality when I found it here. Maybe..." She swallowed and spitted, and Onyxia's words spread like a virus in her mind. "You're right, daughter. Maybe your father has his eyes inserted here."

"If that's the case, it's not safe here." Onyxia tried her best to restrain her, but she still couldn't suppress all her fears. "How long does it take for you to remove the essence from the remains?"

"It takes a long time." Hinestra hugged her arms to her chest and pursed her lips tightly. "I need to check the bones first, and then slowly pull out the essence through the ritual. And I can't deal with all the black dragon bodies at the same time, I have to come one by one."

"I will be alert to the situation around you."

Hinaistra nodded, and she summoned the dragon egg that Nathanos wanted. Merell saw it and wanted to do it, but Onyxia had already returned to the dragon form. Once the mage approached, it would immediately arouse the alertness of the two dragons. The more serious consequence was that the black dragon would notice that someone was following them.

Not OK, not doing so.

…………

Nathanos returned to Nagrand Battle Hill three days later. The curse code was in an iron box where he was, which looked a bit sloppy, but if the iron box was placed in front of him, it would be different. After returning to the base, Nathanos repelled everyone and left himself alone in the cave for rest.

He closed his eyes and took off his clothes and cloak, revealing the traces of his body burned by Senluken. The battle... Nathanos no longer wants to recall it, but the result was good. He opened his eyes and slowly wiped the wound with the potion prepared by North. This sounded the alarm for him. The ointment could only slow down the corrosion rate of his wound and could not help him heal.

"One day." Nathanos looked at his hand, thinking that one day this body would be overwhelmed.
