Chapter Thirty-Six - Saranis

…………

The ruins of Kenriva Village reminded Sylvanas of Quelthalas, but the village could no longer be rebuilt and became a place for mana beasts spilled by mana bombs to wander with old ghosts.

The most central part of the village is the Mage Tower.

"Typical human architectural style." Sylvanas murmured to the tower, and she found that the most conspicuous building in the entire village was intact.

That Waggs was locked up here? Why didn't Kadega come to save him? The gate of the tower was not blocked and there were no guards around him. Why didn't Waggs leave by himself? The female elf walked in with these questions. As soon as she passed through the arc arch, she felt that her power seemed to have been pulled away halfway, and her consciousness and senses became unrealistic. In a panic, Sylvanas immediately retreated.

What's going on? She widened her eyes and tried to reach out to touch it. Sure enough, when her hand passed through the door, her strength suddenly disappeared.

"There is something wrong with this tower!" Sylvanas gasped and hesitated. She suspected that it was a trap.

"There is no danger in the tower, come in."

The sudden sound made Sylvanas turn back and look, and there was nothing. She also heard that the sentence was not coming from behind. But...

She looked down at the fragment of the staff in her hand. The fragment was trembling slightly and was still glowing.

Is this gadget talking to her?

"Come to the top of the tower! We have to talk."

Sylvanas knew who was talking, and she endured the discomfort and walked into the tower. After a few steps, she leaned casually and slightly tiredly on the cylinder at the entrance of the spiral staircase to let herself take a breath. She looked up at the stairs as if there was no end. At this moment, she wanted to ask why Waggs wanted her to go up? If the mage was in the tower, he could go down. Sylvanas was afraid that she would not be able to help but see Waggs, and threw him down from the steps. But she just snorted lowly, glared at the top of the tower, and then walked up with her legs.

She finally reached the top of the tower. Here, the niches carved with the Eye of Kenry To and stained glass windows were staggered. The whole hall looked very similar to Jaina's Mage Tower. Sylvanas could clearly see the surrounding bottles and jars. A circular platform was placed in the center of the hall, with a jewel on it. Sylvanas had seen such things, and was a magic weapon with reconnaissance ability.

The master of the Mage Tower was standing at the top of a ladder, searching for something on the bookshelf. The great wizard was shorter than Sylvanas, and his big brown beard made him look younger than Kardag.

Waggs didn't turn around and said directly, "Did Kadega ask you?" His voice was clear and powerful. This question seemed casual, but there was a little warning.

"Yes." Sylvanas replied. Despite trying her best to cover it up, she could not stop the gasp after the climb. In order to break the continuous silence and leave here quickly, she had to continue gasping and pointing at the orb, "So, you knew I was coming long ago?"

Waggs turned around, first looked at Sylvanas carefully, nodded and said, "The orb behind me can be used to peek at what is happening in Azeroth. Kelthas's curse changed everything. Of course, during so many years of isolation, I have been comforted by its images. The wind cannot dispel eternal regret, and the flowers cannot dye homesickness."

Sylvanas's mouth twitched subconsciously, and Wags' inexplicable words made her feel uncomfortable. She wanted to teach the wizard a lesson, or leave him alone. "You just said the curse? What curse?"

"Didn't you feel it?"

The power of disappearing! Sylvanas understood, she thought it was Waggs's work, but she didn't expect that the mage was also a victim.

"Is it Kelthus?"

"When I think about it now, I really didn't expect that Kelthus had such powerful magical powers. I know he was a very talented mage, but the spells he used on the day he attacked Kelthus village were completely beyond my imagination." Waggs sighed heavily, as if he was recalling the day when Kelthus was attacked. He had never taken a step from the Mage Tower for seventeen years... But Waggs didn't look crazy yet. His hair was long and loose and messy. The purple sharp-cornered hat did not have old folds. But like other humans, time still added a few lines to the Mage's face. His eyes were a little tired. "Kelthus imposed on the Mage Tower made me unable to leave, but fortunately it could not stop others from doing this job."

"Why didn't Kardag come in person?"

"At that time, Shatas had not yet attacked Void Storm."

"So that's it," Sylvanas said in a sarcastic voice. "It's a convincing reason." She felt herself falling into a trap. "Say, how do I get you out? It's better to say the point, I have limited time."

"You have to go to the Eco-ship of Storm Fortress to find Saranis."

"Commander Saranis?" Sylvanas said the name, "I remember her, she was one of Kelthus's consultants."

"She had participated in the battle to attack the village of Kenrewa. The key to lifting the curse of this tower is her." Waggs added.

"In other words, I want to attack the ecological ship?" The female elf frowned, "This is not easy. The attack on the Void Storm has just begun, and it may take some time."

"I've been here for seventeen years, and it's not too long to wait for a few days." Waggs shrugged and jumped off the ladder lightly.

Two people of different races stood face to face, staring at each other. Waggs' relaxed tone made Sylvanas suspect that he had not been here for seventeen years, but seventeen minutes.

Why does he seem to care so much?

After a while, Waggs said, "I like quietness." His face became softer and showed a sincere smile. His voice also warmed up, "Thank you for agreeing to Kardag to save me."

"Everyone takes what you need." Sylvanas threw the fragments of the staff to Waggs. "Is this yours? I'll give it to you now."
