Chapter 23 - After the War

…………

tribe

"Why retreat?" Grom was very dissatisfied with the sound of the horn appearing on the battlefield. He vowed to tear the man who blew the horn in half.

"Our goal has been achieved, and it is meaningless to continue fighting again." Orgrim said, hiding in the dark and observing the battlefield. Grom was very satisfied with his performance, but the arrival of the alliance reinforcements surprised him.

"Just give me a little more time." Hellscream stepped forward and said gritting his teeth, as if he still had endless strength. "Just wait a little longer, I can dedicate the heads of those alliance leaders to you." The desire for fighting on his body had not subsided, and the Hammer of Destruction wanted to calm him down.

"Our goal is not to kill all the alliances, but to establish a solid frontier position here." Orgrim said loudly, not just to Grom alone. "My soldiers, you have done a good job. The scars on each of you show me your bravery!" A shout rang around. "Now, the alliance has seen our strength, but this is only the tip of the iceberg of our infinite army. When our main force arrives, the alliance will completely fail. Their land, their kingdom will be owned by us, and even further away, all the flags will be replaced with bloody red. Lok'tar! For the tribe."

"For the tribe!" The orcs shouted in unison, and their voices rang out into the sky.

alliance

Losa looked at the mess around in a mess, and the soldiers cleaned the battlefield and dealt with the bodies. There was no doubt that the alliance was defeated, and he didn't know how much losses he suffered, but it was definitely not small.

"This is such a huge disaster." Kadega came to the commander, "We have lost many soldiers, and more than a dozen mages. Aurelia's ranger has also lost more than half, and Turayan is comforting her."

"Who led reinforcements here just now?" Losa asked while sitting on a wooden barrel.

"He's coming." Kardga pointed ahead, and Gareth was walking towards this side.

"Galiss, the commander of the Sixth Legion, reported to you, Marshal Lothar, I hope I will come too late." Galiss bowed and saluted.

"Who told you to come, General?"

"It's King Terenas, who said the alliance would be attacked and asked me to support it. Sorry, the orcs ran too fast and my people couldn't catch up."

"It's okay." Losa replied deflatedly, "It doesn't matter anymore."

Kadega looked at the commander and stopped talking and asked, "How did King Terenas know we would be attacked?"

Hum? Galithers looked at Kadega strangely and puzzledly, "Isn't Marshal Lothar sending a messenger to King Terenas for help?" Galithers said, turning around and shouting to his people, "Bring that messenger here."

Leren came down to Lothar by two soldiers. The young priest Lothar was surprised. He seemed to be Nathanos' friend.

"So that's it." Lothar understood at once, and he said to Galithers: "You are doing a good job, General Galithers, your support is very timely. Please let your people stay here temporarily. We cannot guarantee that the tribe will not launch a second attack."

“As you wish.”

After Garithers left, Lothar turned his head to Leren.

"It was Nathanos, right?"

Leren was a little worried, not knowing what Lothar would think of this serious behavior. The blood-stained warrior in front of him saw through his worries.

"Don't worry, I'm very grateful to Nathanos, if it weren't for him, we would have suffered more."

Leren nodded: "It was him who made me pretend to be your messenger and asked King Terenas for help, and said he would definitely arrive today."

"Where is Nathanos now?" asked Kardga.

Lerain shook his head.

"Uther tells me he's gone."

"We should get him back, Marshal." Kardga said immediately: "We need to ask for his forgiveness. All his speculations are correct. We..." Kardga said this and found that Lossa's face was full of sadness and self-blame, as if he had suddenly become older. "I'm sorry." Kardga apologized in a low voice. He shouldn't say such words, which made Lossa blame himself for all the blame.

"Immediately let the soldiers clean the battlefield and then build fortifications urgently." Losa stood up and kept his emotions. "At the same time, transfer the wounded to Thurberchell. Summon all the generals, I have important tasks to assign."

The other side

Turayan and Aurelia followed Kasha to the hillside where Nathanos looked down on the battlefield. Kasha was knocked unconscious by Nathanos before, and she woke up without knowing what was going on, but the tragic situation at the Alliance Camp made her think that she had missed the end of the world, and Nathanos was gone.

"It's here." Kasha found the place where she woke up, under a big tree.

"Here?" Aurelia asked.

"I'm sure it's here."

The female elf held the bow and arrow that saved her in her hand, then looked back at the camp and recalled her location at that time.

"It's at least five hundred yards away from the barracks," she said, and then looked at Nathanos' arrows. He had destroyed the general concept with practical actions that human shooting skills were not as good as those of the elves. As the general of the Silver Moon City Ranger, Aurelia knew very well that even she could only draw the bow and string at the most distance between two hundred yards. Nathanos had even doubled this distance.

"Do you know where he went?" Turayan asked Kasha: "I believe everyone wants to find him now."

The girl shook her head and said she was the only one who woke up.

"I will find him." Aurelia put the bow and arrow into her quiver.

"This is too dangerous. We don't know if there are any orcs around us." The young paladin opposed, knowing that Aurelia was injured and had not had time to deal with it.

"You said too, everyone wants to find him, don't they?" The female elf smiled dryly, and then ran to the woods.

Nathanos

After the Alliance reinforcements arrived at the battlefield, Nathanos left, and he did not go home. Instead, he went to find the place where the tribe landed. Fortunately, he found it, and then he saw the village destroyed by the tribe.

"Such a man is dead." Nathanos walked in a pool of blood and was no less tragic than the Alliance barracks. He could not find a survivor, or even a child, and he could not find him. The dead were everywhere, and the cut off limbs made people do evil, and the smell of blood became stronger under the sunlight.

"Is anyone alive?" Nathanos shouted loudly, no one responded. He walked into a room and found that only the murdered villagers who were not lying on the ground had obviously been searched, but the owner of the room might still be alive. Nathanos searched carefully. The orcs had planned such a secret action. If it were him, he would have been afraid of hiding and not rushing out of the house to escape.

After searching for a long time, Nathanos still couldn't find this possible survivor.

"I was wrong?" Nathanos planned to leave, but accidentally knocked down the vase on the desk. The vase rolled onto the floor, and the sound immediately attracted his attention.

"There is a basement here?"
