Chapter 26 - Ritual
…………
Time is up.
Aurelia pulled the heavy fur cloak on her body tightly. She was standing on a crescent-shaped platform in the middle of the magic ring. Here, she could clearly see the vast sky - some dragons standing on the fixed disc, waiting solemnly. Terregosa was also in it. Because she could not bring Aurelia to approach the ceremony, Terregosa gave a crystal ball to the Regent, which could help her hear the sound inside the ceremony.
The sky tonight was particularly clear, and the stars were shining clearly in the night sky. It was a bit surprising to see the clear sky in Northrend, but this just shows how unique the day was.
The two moons are already very close and will soon "embrace" together. The blue dragons are all kept quiet. In the center surrounded by many discs, there is a wider platform, with only two giant dragons on the platform. They are candidates for the weaver - Caregus and Aregus.
They just stood quietly like this, staring at each other with all their eyes focused, and the atmosphere was enough to make everyone nervous.
Karegoth lowered his head and raised his huge blue head, staring at the trajectory of the moon in the sky. Then when he lowered his head, his opponent, Aregos, had slowly walked towards the center of the platform, ready to loudly instill his will and ideas into other blue dragons.
"We gather here to decide the fate of the Blue Dragon Legion!" Aricos's voice was clear and loud. He was a young blue dragon like Karegos. Now, this blue dragon with the bloodline of the former weaver looked at Karegos, with complex emotions such as contempt, anger, and even jealousy. After he said the first sentence, he turned to other blue dragons. In his heart, he believed that only by obtaining more people's support can he become a weaver.
“Our history is full of setbacks and challenges. Our future is facing greater threats.” Then, he spoke out the voice of each blue dragon, “our status quo calls for a powerful leader.”
On the other hand, Aurelia's attention was not all on the group of blue dragons. The stars in the sky were forming, and two full moons were about to embrace each other.
Aregus in the crystal was still saying, every sentence had objective value. The Regent thought that if Caregus wanted to win, he should not express his personal opinion, but should conduct logical debates and use the past of the Blue Dragon Legion to prove how dangerous Aregus' words were.
"I am the son of my father." Aricos raised his head and shouted loudly, "I am watching him, he leads us in adversity, never fearing challenges."
No one will forget Marigos. Aricos's words happened to remind those experienced Blue Dragon members of the past magic guardians. Once upon a time, Marigos was also a wise leader.
Arigos continued to express his excitement to his tribe: "Some people... declared that my father was crazy, but even in the darkest moments, he had a clear view that he always put the needs of the Blue Dragon Legion first. He has been working hard to consolidate the power that should belong to us to deal with the dilemma he encountered." Arigos slowly retreated back to his original position and shouted loudly: "Brothers, we must regain our power. Under my leadership, the Blue Dragon Legion will surely rise again, surpass the glory of the past, and welcome a greater destiny. I promise!"
Aurelia's palms began to sweat, and Aricus's words undoubtedly told others that he would continue to exercise the path of Marigos. He said that he wanted to regain the power belonging to the Blue Dragon Legion. Is it just that he was talking about magic. Will he launch the magic war again like Marigos? From the reflection in the crystal, his bold remarks caused a great degree of commotion. The dragons turned their heads and looked at their companions, with confusion and hesitation in their eyes. Several dragons were even scared by such ideas.
Only Karegoth had a expressionless face. When Aricos spoke, he held his head up to admire the rare changes in the sky. Compared with the commotion happening below, the soft light of the two full moons was so quiet. The blue and white light merged with each other, and the blue transparent magic spell began to form in the sky. The long expectation and waiting made this moment look so slow, but it happened after all.
Finally, the cold and calm atmosphere was shattered - Karegoth's powerful wings flapped out a strong airflow, as if it was in the air, but he just wanted everyone's attention to return to him.
Now it's his turn to speak!
Slowly, the other dragons turned their heads one by one, no longer thinking about Aricos and his declaration of regaining their own power.
Karegoth slowly walked to the center of the platform. Unlike Aricos at the beginning, his eyes were always on his fellow countrymen.
"Brothers, sisters," he said. "Aricos talked about our bumpy past. Yes, the past is full of hardships." Blue Dragon nodded as he walked, "but what I want to say is that we must take responsibility for the scars we created."
This statement mentioned the Magic Hub War. The "scars" mentioned by Caregus also refers to the war that caused cracks to appear in many places in Northrend. The unstable cracks released magic power and attracted many creatures that twisted the void.
"Let us change the way we have in the past and give up the idea of eradicating magic from this world. Use magic for the welfare of Azeroth and all living beings." Karegoth paused for a moment and slowly looked into the sky. "Our choice today will surely change the fate of the entire Blue Dragon Legion, and even the fate of this world. May the Titans guide us and may we make wise choices." He said and retreated.
The blue and white moon that merged together cast a magical phantom at this moment, and landed on the platform on the darker skin and purer and more beautiful heart, forming a delicate and soft light around him. This light is so attractive that Aurelia unknowingly brought her face closer to the crystal surface.
Then, the light changed. They focused at one point, passed through Caregus's body, and did not leave.
