Chapter 35 - Alliance Affairs

…………

Sylvanas remembered that it was her second time to come to Storm Fortress. Since the Silver Covenant announced her entry into Dara, she has rarely participated in the internal affairs of the alliance. Some news was told by Jaina, and some judgments were made by rumors. The female elf never thought that one day she would provide information to the alliance herself - she tried to tell everything she knew and conveyed by Ms. Theramore. But this time was an exception, because Jaina thought that what she wanted to say was too important and she had to tell Varian herself.

The atmosphere was really depressing. The conference room on the side of the Throne Hall of Storm Fortress was used to hold a war parliament. Varian's behavior of arranging them in this place made Sylvanas guess what the king meant was to let them tell a long story short, as simple and clear as reporting on military situations.

"I might not really be here."

"You're here again." Jaina took a sip of tea and brewed a cup for Sylvanas. "This is the third time you said the same thing."

The female elf looked at the female mage with complaint. Before she could speak, the other party then added: "You can't always be on the edge of the league, Sylvanas. You are also one of the leaders of the league, representing the league's position in Dalaran."

I want to keep the status quo. General Ranger wanted to answer Jaina like this, but it sounded a bit too irresponsible. She took a deep breath and said bitterly: "I'm not kidding, Jaina. But Varian and I will have an argument as soon as we meet. Maybe I should really stay in Theramore to help you train the troops. I still remember the promise I made when I joined your camp."

Jaina smiled, but she didn't mean to tease Sylvanas, "Don't worry. After you left, Theramore's troops were training, and their weapons and equipment were made by skilled craftsmen from the Iron Fort." She tasted the cake and snacks in the small plate in front of her, and felt that the taste was really good, so she asked in a light and energetic voice: "Don't you want to try Darnasus's snacks, ma'am?"

"I need water now so that I can prepare myself when facing Varian later." Sylvanas waved his hand and rejected the female mage's kindness. Even for human age, Jaina looked particularly young and beautiful. Her golden hair was always on her shoulders, and she didn't look like an adult who was nearly thirty years old. She always smiled, and her blue eyes had the wisdom and wisdom that were no less than anyone else.

"Varian is not the kind of person you think is difficult to talk to."

"If he can get along well with his son, then I might agree with your words."

Sylvanas's answer surprised Jaina. Almost few people knew about King Varian's family affairs. He had an indescribable contradiction with his son Anduin Urien. In a word, Anduin completely inherited the tenderness and kindness of his deceased mother, Queen Tiffan, and had nothing in common with his father.

Varian was decisive and irritable, and did everything he did. Of course, this was also related to his special experience. Over the past few years, the Black Dragon Princess Onyxia was still a heart-wrenching problem of the Ghost Wolf. Now few people are talking about the king's past. Once the nobles of Stormwind City were suspicious of the people of the kingdom, but now Varian would never allow any other rumors to appear, so in the eyes of the outside world, the king and his children are naturally very close. Only a few people who are very close to Varian know what the situation is between the father and son. However, Jaina can be sure that Sylvanas is not among these people, but she knows the encounter that happened to the king, and the female mage can only admire the intelligence ability of the Silver Covenant.

The door of the conference room was knocked, and Jaina and Sylvanas looked at each other, cleared their throats and said, "Please come in."

A middle-aged man with short brown hair, monocle glasses on his face, and a shirt with the same hair color came into the door. He looked like a consultant, but Sylvanas's keen intuition could smell the faint murderous aura on him.

"I'm honored to be simple, Ms. Prodmore, I'm Taber, a military adviser to Stormwind." The man had a good attitude, and then looked at the female elf sitting next to Jaina with a confused look.

"I'm glad to see you, Consultant Taber. You are famous in Northrend Fortress." Jaina nodded and introduced: "This is the Ranger General of the Silver Covenant, Sylvanas. It is she who has information to tell His Majesty the King."

"I'm glad to know you, ma'am." Taber bowed to Sylvanas. This action made General Ranger very strange and a little too respectful.

"Please forgive me for being reckless, consultant," said Sylvanas, looking out the door with some disappointment, "When will His Majesty the King appear?"

Taber replied with a sorry look, "This... I'm really sorry, the relationship between the tribe and the alliance has been tense recently. Ashes Valley, Stone Claw Mountain, Phellas, and the Barren Land are everywhere, and His Majesty the King thinks this is a precursor to the war. He is actively deploying, so he can't get away for the time being."

"Only a few years have passed, and the alliance and the tribe are about to fight again?"

"The tribe just welcomed a new chief." Jaina took over the right to speak. Sylvanas's attitude towards the tribe was rejected, but it didn't matter to the alliance. If Varian heard her words just now, I'm afraid the dispute between the two could not be avoided. "They are also trying to overcome the difficult difficulties after the war. So the recent action of the tribe may not be aimed at the alliance."

"You have to understand, ma'am." Taber's expression told Jaina, who did not agree with her. "The new chief of the tribe is not as far-sighted as Thrall, he is a completely militarist."

The female mage frowned and began to rethink Taber's words. When the ancient god sealed in Odur woke up, Ronin hoped that the Alliance and the Horde would join forces to fight against the threat of the Ancient God, but Varian and the commander of the War Song Expeditionary Force - now the Horde Chief, fought directly as soon as they met. The Ghost Wolf has always been so strong. Before, Thrall intended to avoid the collision with the Alliance, but now a person similar to Varian has taken over the Horde.

What does this mean? Jaina looked at Sylvanas with some concern. The elves were talking about something with Taber, but she couldn't hear them.
