Chapter 6 - The Sky Coverer

…………

Galin Thorbain seemed to smell the breath of death, thinking that it was exactly the same as the undead army outside the Rapids Castle.

The Scourge is back! That must be true.

"Prince Galin." His bodyguard Carno broke in.

The guard was covered in mixed stains of rain and soil, but his leader, regardless of what he had experienced and had brought back any good news, directly scolded him loudly: "Call the king of our country!"

Carno was stunned, then changed his name to Galin as the king, and then subconsciously said the latest battle situation of the Rapids Fort: "King... King... King, the defense line of Soladin's wall has been lost, and Lord Danas's remaining troops have withdrawn from the fortress, but he asks you to gather the civilians in the city immediately and take them to the south to ask for the help of the alliance."

"What!" Galin jumped up from the soft-up carved wooden bench and said furiously: "How dare he order me? Why didn't he defend the Soladin wall? How could he let the enemy invade my territory?"

"This is not your territory!" Danas pushed the door angrily, and his burly figure formed a clear contrast with Galin's thinness, which reminded the latter of his father Soras. Galin was also scared. "Bathland Castle belongs to the people of Rapidland Castle."

"I have this!"

Danas watched Galin pull out the sword tied to his belt and put it in front of him. The member of the son of Lothar immediately turned sad. He recognized the sword - Tokalal, a symbol of the Thorbain family. It was supposed to be King Soras's sword, radiant in the hands of the former king of the Rapids Castle, but now it has become rusty in the hands of Galin.

"You failed this sword!" Danas's voice surprised Galin. The hero who traveled through the dark gates hardly gave the guy who claimed to be king much choice. "Take the people retreat, and the Rapids Castle will soon fall, and before that, we must ensure that more people will survive."

"This is my kingdom." Garin reminded gritted his teeth, causing Danas, who had walked to the door to suddenly stop and looked at him with boredom. "I am qualified to decide what to do, Danas. No one is allowed to leave, and must guard the Rapids Castle!"

"Once the heavy rain outside stops suddenly, the undead will immediately launch a general attack. Even the Soladin wall can't stop their siege equipment. How long has the wall of Rapids last?"

"This is your business! I order you to fight back the dead as a king."

Danas looked at Galin incredibly, thinking to himself that this person is his brother? Galin has no such charm as his uncle. He is like a playboy, only considering his own interests.

"Then you stay and wait for death." Danas left this sentence, leaving Galin and Carno stunned. As soon as he stepped out of the castle, Danas could still hear his brother's curse, his vicious words, adding many false accusations to him. This was a war, and Danas knew in his heart that nothing was more important than life.

"Varocar!" Danas called. The cavalry lieutenant from the Fortress of Rapids rushed over and heard the sound. Thorbain was happy that he could find a trustworthy person at this time. "How is the army of undead now?"

Varocar is an iconic soldier. His armor has been repaired and his robe has many jagged scratches. At this moment, the soldier said: "No enemy was found outside the city, sir. Do you think they are not planning to attack Rapidsburg?"

"No, this just shows that his commander is a powerful guy who can hide the army from our perspective." Danas also began to wonder when he explained that he had never heard of an undead army in so many years after the Lich King was defeated, and this army was well-trained and well-equipped.

"How is the concentration of people?"

"There are still some people who are unwilling to leave, sir. They say they want to live and die with this city."

Danas frowned suddenly, "Silly, what's the use of living and dying together? If everyone dies, the Rapids Castle will really perish!" He relieved his anger a little and continued to Varocar, "You should first take the people who have already gathered to the south to the wetlands, especially the elderly and children. Remember not to go on the water route, and don't stop and wait for me. Be sure to ensure that the people arrive at the Minaishir port of the wetland safely."

"Is the prince allowed?" the lieutenant asked more. Danas shook his head helplessly, and he also saw Varocar showing the same expression as him.

"Don't worry, I will take all the blame. Do your own business."

"As for orders, sir."

After the lieutenant left, Danas breathed a sigh of relief. He must now persuade those stubborn people to leave quickly.

...

In the Forgotten Barracks, most of the war commanders were called to Nathanos's tent to talk.

The Withered One was the last one to appear. He walked into the brightly lit command room, took off his cloak with severe water, threw it next to the stove. Obviously, he had just gone to explore the enemy alone.

"Are you all here? Very good!" Nathanos said after glanced at everyone. Unlike previous meetings, except for Merriel and Belmont who were members of the Withering Parliament, the others were newcomers, and some were even old subordinates of the Scourge, but they joined the Forgotten after the Lich King was defeated.

"Tatsel hasn't arrived, master," said Belmont.

"I arranged a new task for her. Danas knew that the Rapids Fort was no longer in a position to defend, and would definitely take people south to the wetland Minaishir port, and then take a boat to Stormwind."

"You asked her to chase their ship?" Merriel asked.

"No, I'm not cruel enough to attack a ship full of wounded and sick." Nathanos returned to the mage with a reassured smile, "I asked her to track the Alliance's route, and look forward to one day... being able to 'visit' Storm City."

These words not only surprised everyone, but also made Merriel worried, "Are you planning to attack Stormwind City in the future?"

"Yes, if one day the league and we really become mortal enemies. So, expect it best not to have that day."

"I'm looking forward to it. If you plan to attack Stormwind, I will definitely pave your way with my arrows."

Nathanos looked curiously at the person who was talking. This was a hungry and thin undead, his gray upper body was exposed to the air, and his shoulders were huge armor.
