Chapter Nineteen - Goblin Squad One(2/2)
"Since you have prepared the money, please give it to me."
The laughter burst out in Norton's throat. Freedom Town suddenly became lively.
"I'm not telling a joke, Captain Norton. Since you have purchased our artillery and ammunition, you should pay a considerable amount of gold. I don't think you are short of money, after all, you just robbed a merchant ship in Stormwind."
Norton choked with the wine that had not yet eaten. How could it be heard from the goblin's mouth reach the other person's ears just a few days later? The big-bellied Kultilas quickly recovered from calmness and shouted, "If I don't give it, what can you do to me?"
He has seen such people many times. Zhong Pendulum sneered in his heart. From entering the Strait of Tiragard to Liberty Town, everything that will happen next is within his calculations. Norton actually thought he could lose the account that owed the Forgotten?
"Then, you have to pay some price. After all, you don't have to use gold coins to repay the amount on the bill. You can use something more valuable, such as your life!"
"Do you know whose territory is here, goblin? Do you think you two can kill my guards?"
"Talk about them..." The pendulum's eyes turned to the guards, "They are so hard. You drink and eat meat in the back, but they have to be careful of people who threaten you. This may be their duty, but as employees, what can they get? Have you paid them for overtime?"
"Overtime pay?" Norton stared at the pendulum sarcastically, "I am their captain. I drive them without any overtime pay, just a command."
"What about insurance? You can definitely handle their aftermath, right?"
Before they knew it, the pendulum and Norton had a chat. Although they were talking from the beginning, they were obviously off topic now. The salamander took advantage of the time to recalculate the safer evacuation route. If the talk broke down later, they could still run.
"Where is the pirates' insurance?"
"Ah, I get it. Their salary is very high, you must be the generous captain."
"I'm indeed very generous, give them 3 gold coins a year!"
The salamander immediately turned around when he heard this number. This miser really wanted to rush over to check if there was a goblin hidden under Norton's skin. The pirate with an annual salary of 3 gold coins was really cheap labor.
"I see!"
The pendulum's voice suddenly changed, and the complimentary tone disappeared. The salamander realized that the good show had just begun. Her companion brought a piece of paper out of her pocket and shook it in front of everyone, "Do you still remember this? Your bill! Owe 108 gold coins."
Norton's eyes narrowed. As long as he ordered, everyone would rush up to cut the small green skin into pieces, but the captain suddenly became interested and wanted to see how the goblins recovered their debts.
"Let's make a new deal."
"Tell me, look."
"As long as the people under your command can make up the amount of money owed, I will not only pay back the debt, but also give you an extra 100 gold."
