Chapter 4 - Descendants of the Sunstrider
…………
"Is that little bastard right inside? I saw him go in."
Belorel's face was calmly watching the changes at the entrance of the round tower. Several waiters desperately persuaded a woman who was obviously drunk. Unlike the others, she was wearing a red gauze dress and a bracelet with a phoenix pattern on her hands. No matter how anyone could pull it, she got rid of the obstruction of the person behind her and came to Belorel. The Sutherly and his wife apologized for the latter's reckless intrusion.
"Who is this lady?" Belorel was not angry at her rude words. The other party was obviously drunk, his eyes were blurred and his cheeks were red.
"She is Leanda, His Highness." Sutheril thought for a while and added: "Leanda Sun Chaser."
"Sun Chaser?" Belorel looked at the drunk woman in surprise and took a long time to react. "It's really surprising. I thought this surname had become history."
Leanda did not react to this sentence at first, and she drank the wine in her glass. Suddenly, the cup fell on the wall of the round tower, and the shattering sound mixed with Leanda's angry growl. The Sun Chaser woman held Belorel tightly at a surprising speed, as if the glass of wine she had drunk ignited a fire.
"Are you crazy?" Baron Sutherill shouted with a pale face, "Take this crazy woman out."
The attendants were about to make a move, but Belorel stopped them. Leanda did not attack him, and she placed her hands on his shoulders, not on her neck. "Let your people go out first, Baron."
"But, Your Highness..."
"For the sake of the Sun Well, please let them out."
Sutheril's throat was swallowed completely again. As the Baroness pulled his arm, he nodded quickly: "Of course, Your Highness." Then he quickly pulled the attendants in the round tower away, leaving no trace except for the sweat drops they fell to the ground.
"I want to talk to this Sun Chaser lady alone, please go and greet other guests first."
"Your Highness, you..."
"I'm fine, go out. But don't tell what you see, okay?"
"Yes, Your Highness." Sutheril glanced at him worriedly and stepped back.
The remaining two elves did not move, but Belorel didn't like the look of Leanda looking down at him. He grabbed the female elves' wrists with both hands and pulled them away from his shoulders with force.
Feeling that he was being treated rudely, Leanda cursed: "The Wind Walkers are all usurpers. You have occupied something that did not belong to you."
Bellorell was shocked. He had not heard anyone say such words for a long time. The Wind Walker family controlled the political and military power of Quelthalas, which inevitably caused rumors to arise in this kingdom that had been ruled by the Sun Rider. Some people longed to restore the status of the Sun Rider family - this may be the reason why Leanda appeared here, because the shadow left by the Scourge Legion has faded away. When life became stable, some people wanted to return to the carefree life of the past. But their mother could not give the people what they wanted. In her eyes, Quelthalas's prosperity is just a preparation for the next disaster.
"There is no Elven King in Quelthalas, only the Regent, Madam."
"Aleria is only one coronation ceremony." Leanda laughed and stumbled to grab the wine prepared for Belorel on the table. "Your mother... is hypocritical. She just calls herself the Regent to show her false loyalty like others. Do you dare to say that there is no scepter of the Elf King in her wardrobe? Didn't the flattering guys around her surrounded her and put on the phoenix costume?"
The items that Leanda mentioned were seen by Belorel, but the scepter of the Elf King had long been broken, and the fragments were stored as souvenirs on Queldanas Island, and the same was true for Phoenix Clothing.
"What others say and do has nothing to do with my mother's decision. She is the Regent, not the King, now and in the future."
"The future? Whose future? Hers or yours? You have been ready to replace the Sun Chaser family, right?"
"The current situation of the Sun Chaser cannot be blamed for anyone," said Bellorell. "It was Kelthas's insistence on his own actions that led to the decline of Dasrema's bloodline."
A sneer appeared on the corner of Leanda's mouth, as if the wine she drank made her sober. "Then I ask you, is the prince the entire Sun-Chaser family? Can your mother represent the entire Wind Walker family?"
This is a trap-filled question. Bellorell thought of his aunt Sylvanas in a flash. If his mother could really represent the entire Wind Walker family, then the aunt would not have left Quel'thalas alone.
"Maybe not, but no tree can control its branches to stretch in the same direction. If you feel that the sin of Kelthas has caused the entire Suncatcher family to be treated unfairly, then I can tell you clearly that the Windrunner family has not done anything to be sorry for you."
"We have been forced to change our names!"
Bellorel blinked, and was extremely shocked at the words of an elf woman with a glorious surname saying. It must not be nonsense. He could clearly see the tears in the corner of Leanda's eyes. "You?"
But Leanda was not interested in hearing him ask questions. "Is it strange? Who still likes the Sun Chaser now? Kelthas ruined all of us by himself. Do you think my distant cousins are willing to admit that they are royal blood?"
The voices of elf women are usually full of temptation, as sweet and pleasant as clear springs. And now, when Leanda said the last word, her voice was completely hoarse. Bellorel stood there a little at a loss. "Then why don't you hide yourself? You're attending such a banquet..."
The last sip of wine in the bottle was drunk by Leanda. Prince Quel's Thalas began to doubt whether the wine was imposed with magic, which did not make people drowsy, but became more and more excited. Only Leanda sneered: "Hide? Why do I hide? Only cowards hide themselves! I will never forget who it is. Even if the whole Quel'thalas believes that Aurelia is the absolute ruler, I will object to her." She paused for a moment, then took a sip of wine and continued: "Is she really glamorous? Her sister, her husband, what these two people did was really amazing. One led our compatriots to kill each other, and the other led an army of tens of thousands of undeads to avenge her. Because of her personal reasons, how many hidden dangers did she leave for Sindore?"
Bellorell looked at the woman in front of him in shock in a silent silence. Her words hurt people's hearts like thorns. Aunt Sylvanas and his father have indeed become his mother's heart disease. Even because of his father, many people criticized the regent's unbearable past.
There is no effective and proactive way to dispel those people's concerns. The only way is to wait passively and wait for the situation to change. Over time, when the Silver Covenant and the Forgotten did not take any action against Quel Thalas, the rumors would automatically disappear. Therefore, Belorel did not refute these words of the Sun Chaser Female Elf.
The long-silent atmosphere was finally broken by Leanda herself. She let out a roar and left the bottle on the ground, as if the empty bottle was filled with her endless anger, or if she wanted to launch an attack, but she had no real target. The Sun Catcher woman felt powerless, so she used the target in her hand to vent her anger.
"No matter how wronged you feel, it will make no sense to vent your catharsis here. Others can only see your ugly face,"
"Then let them watch slowly, let them know that the Sun-Survivor is indeed worth mentioning now, living a life of stagnation, like a rusty iron sword, broken and useless, forgotten and abandoned."
"Enough!" Bellor yelled, "Decay is not an excuse for one to give up on oneself. You are not broken and useless. Quel'thalas is still your home, and my mother did not exile you. You are still citizens of Silver Moon City. The doubts you bear can be broken by practical actions. Is there anything that cannot be created by your own hands?"
"Quelthalas has been led by the Sun Chaser for thousands of years. Even if Kelthas goes to the fall, your mother should support other Sun Chaser members to succeed the Elf King. Instead of letting Das Rema's blood disappear."
Bellorell fell completely into silence and swallowed with difficulty. At the beginning, he seemed to have reached the answer - why did the Sun-Chasing people appear in such an occasion and choose the moment of attendance? Is Leanda's arrival a coincidence? Or was it deliberately arranged? All doubts revolved around one word - power, those nobles, those who hope to return to their past luxury and worry-free life, they let a poor woman who lost her status test the attitude of the Wind Walker family.
"It was Keltthas who declared King Anastarien as the last elves. He had been failing all his life, but only two things were recognized by my mother. The first thing was his order, and the second thing was to name the high elves the blood elves, so that we could remember the shame." Bellorel raised his voice and looked straight into Leanda's eyes. The latter flinched and was unwilling to look at him, but had to force himself to do so.
It was not until now that Leanda realized that it was stupid to mention the request of the Elf King. After Kelthas colluded with Kiljadan, he established the Elf King in front of everyone, not only violated his oath, but also defiled the glory of the Sun Chaser family. This also led to the end of the Battle of Sun Well, many blood elves began to be hostile to the old royal family members. Although Aurelia did not drive away Kelthas' blood relatives, she did not stand up to protect other innocent Sun Chaser. She did nothing and allowed them to be drowned in the scolding of the people.
Seeing that Leanda stopped talking, Belorel continued: "I sympathize with the experience of the Sun Chaser family, and so is my mother, but the shadow left by Kelthas has always been over your heads. You keep saying that the Regent should restore the Sun Chaser's position. So what I want to know is, when Kelthas colludes with the demons, occupy the Sun Well, and prepares to destroy the world, where are you? Who among you joins the army and dares to pick up the sword and point at the fallen prince? You..." Belorel's voice stopped abruptly. When he saw the fire in Leanda's eyes replaced by a cold expression and lowered his head vigorously, a heartache deeply affected him.
Why did I argue with her? Her dissatisfaction is just an illusory word. My condemnation is an indisputable fact, a shame to the Sun Chaser family.
The young elves took a deep breath and turned to the female elves. "I don't know if your appearance was intentional arrangement by those outside, but if they want to use you to challenge the situation my mother has worked hard for so many years, they will be disappointed. No ruler can satisfy everyone. This is what my mother once said to me. As long as this kingdom is on the right track, those unrealistic daydreaming... will never be realized."
Suddenly, Bellor heard a strange noise behind him. Before the fruit knife that sneaked into his sneak attack, the young elf had already used magic to stop the female elf who was ready to kill him.
Leanda felt her body become light, and a wave of air pressed her against the wall, and the knife in her hand fell to the ground with a "clang". She was surprised by the power that Belorel used. Isn't the rumor that Aurelia's son knew nothing about magic?
Feeling the question in Leanda's eyes, Belorel's hand did not put down, maintaining suppression of the Sun Rider. "First, those nobles can find out what I like to eat and drink. They are very powerful. But they can only do this. You just said that I don't agree with, that is, 'Only cowards need to hide'." Speaking of this, Belorel thought of his father, and he felt that his father was by his side. Although he had never seen the other party, he could only have a rough impression of his father from the portraits he usually depicted, but he felt the charm of restraint and forbearance from his father Nathanos. No one knew that he had powerful spells, which meant he could not be prepared for it. This was his advantage and his opponent's disadvantage.
"This... magic, you..." Leanda struggled hard, looking incredibly at the little ghost in front of her. Aurelia's son was as insidious as she herself.
"That's right, it's Kelthus' gravity magic." Belorel affirmed what she didn't say. "That must be a powerful mage. I just learned some fur from the research report he left behind, but I can face certain dangerous situations." His hand was pulled back, and Leanda's body flew towards him like a kite with a string. Belorel quickly looked and slammed her neck at the moment the female elf approached. This delicate body fell in his arms.
It's time to remind those people!
The young elf picked up Leanda and walked out of the round tower. The people outside turned their eyes to him and came up.
"Your Highness?" Baron Sutheril looked at the female elf in Belorel's arms and looked shocked.
"His Excellency Baron, I was impressed by your banquet."
