Chapter 6 - Banquet

…………

A strong wind was coming from the south, and dark clouds were over the city. The howling wind mixed with fallen leaves crossed the streets, slashing on Nathanos's face, stinging. Nathanos was still shining with sunshine when he talked with Lao Wu, but before he could help Lao Wu complete the remaining chores—basically, work like cleaning bookshelfs filled with scrolls—the sky became dark. Then the entire Zen temple gradually fell into silence.

Nathanos likes a quiet atmosphere and can remain calm in such an environment. The panda people in the Zen temple have basically gone to bed. Only Nathanos is left wandering around the Zen temple with full energy. He thought, thinking about Lao Wu explaining to himself during the day what "Sha" is, the panic expression on the panda people's face was too exaggerated.

The evil is an entity of a person's negative emotions. Lao Wu meant that at that time. He also said that not only the pandas would be affected by evil, and anyone who set foot in Pandaria could call evil demons.

What surprised Nathanos was that he had not been attacked by evil spirits for so many days. He looked at his feet, and a faint shadow flashed in the candlelight of fireflies. The heart of the Forgotten One was an endless anger, a hatred for the Scourge, and a confusion about the future path.

Anger, hatred, doubt, since these three negative emotions have always surrounded him, why are you okay?

"Did I not be able to grasp my emotions accurately?" Nathanos guessed that maybe he was not angry, did not hate anyone, nor was he confused. He just thought he was like that.

"It's better to say that it's not too sure, it's not better to understand." Suddenly a voice rang behind him. Nathanos turned around and saw that there was an old man walking in the Zen temple at night. The panda man in front of him was already very old. His white fur was far more than black, but a circle of black hair was still clearly retained around his eyes. "Anger is not anger; hatred is not disgust; doubt is not just asking questions."

"Very good, old man. You successfully eavesdropped on my own words. So why don't you go to bed, but disturb my thoughts here?"

"Do you really want to know the answer?" the older panda man, leaning on a cane and touching the big white beard on his chin with his other hand, then smiled and continued to Nathanos. "Or is your question really important to you?"

"Are you instilling philosophy in me?"

"This is a question that needs deep thought." The panda man exhaled through his nose, but his tone was still dull, without a ripple. "Do you really want to solve the confusion, or do you simply want to experience the sense of accomplishment of knowing everything? Before you think about this question clearly, perhaps the miscellaneous work in Tianchan Temple is suitable for you."

Nathanos roared angrily in his heart, but did not speak. He was competing with an old man.

“Questions are a burden for me,” he said. “The same is true for hatred and anger. If I don’t get released, I will be in pain.”

"Oh, it seems you don't know what you are inside?"

"My heart?" Nathanos subconsciously placed his hand on his chest. He wanted to tell the old man that his heart had stopped beating and would not fluctuate due to emotions. The living's trick was useless to the dead.

"The deepest part of everyone's heart is a wild beast, and a terrible weapon that cannot be used. The evil demon uses his emotions to attack the heart. Your thoughts will be paralyzed and your soul will be strangled. Whether your body is still alive or not, you cannot escape the fate of accompanying the hidden darkness day and night."

Another strange thing, Nathanos narrowed his eyes. He said that, he had never seen the old man in the few days he lived in Tianchan Temple. "What do you mean?"

"Thousands of books are not as good as thousands of miles. You will understand after experiencing it." The old man turned and left. Under Nathanos's gaze, he disappeared without a trace with a gust of wind.

The wither was about to continue doing the chores that Lao Wu should have done. He was unwilling to think about the Panda man's words just now, and he cursed the other party. If the other party can solve his confusion, why not directly say the answer? What nonsense about "you have to experience it yourself" always gives Nathanos a feeling that "if you want to know the answer, you have to pay the price."

He has long been tired of this kind of teasing game.

The next day, when Old Wu discovered that Nathanos helped him finish the work of the day, his appetite for eating several times more than usual, and even threatened to have a few drinks to celebrate. Nathanos didn't want to stop his nature, but he was not a free labor force. The purpose of helping Old Wu reduce the burden was to have more time to listen to him continue to explain Pandaria.

The panda man held a tableware called "chopsticks" in his hand and buried his entire face in the bowl, causing Nathanos to think of another creature. The undead held his smile and "appreciated" it while telling Lao Wu about his experience of meeting the strange old man last night.

"Friends, there are many old men in Tianchan Temple, but there is no one you described."

"Then he is an outsider, and he came late at night?" Nathanos said something strange to me when he mentioned the word "outsider". "He said something he didn't understand to me, and then disappeared."

"There are many hermits and masters on Pandaria, so there is no need to make a fuss." Old Wu was chewing rice in his mouth, and in a blink of an eye he served another bowl for himself.

The Withered Smiling smiled. "Then my charm still attracts them here?"

"Maybe I heard that the welcome banquet for the new apprentice is about to start tonight, so I might want to ask for a drink."

If it weren't for Lao Wu's reminder, Nathanos would have forgotten the banquet. To be honest, he hadn't participated in a large banquet for a long time. The last time was Arthas promoted to Paladin and held a palace banquet in Lordaeron. At that time, he could still experience the fun of the fun. Now, he doesn't know what the banquet has to him.

At night, Nathanos was ready to integrate into that occasion. He told himself to be patient. As a ranger, he believed in his patience. But he gave in five minutes at the beginning of the banquet. He forgot that these pandas were not the group of human aristocrats who were particular about style, and liked to use wonderful music and elegant words to maintain the so-called upper-class atmosphere. On the contrary, the group of yelling guys in front of Nathanos completely changed his view of the banquet. On weekdays, the group of hard-trained apprentices became alcoholics, and they drank glass after cup, and had drunk several people. There were also several mentors who taught their martial arts, who were fighting with Yunshui. Interestingly, Nathanos saw that the monkeys and the Jinyumen at the party could even talk and laugh with each other.

If it was just so messy, Nathanos could understand it, but the scene was gradually chaotic and almost lost control. Some pandas fought for no reason. Not only did the people next to him not stop him, but instead cheered. Nathanos was originally sitting at the corner of the banquet venue, but now he had to find a way to stop those people.

"Don't go... care about them." Old Wu staggered to him with a wine can, and casually pulled a chair and sat next to him. Another panda man with a unclean head fell to the ground because he didn't pay attention to his seat and never got up again.

"If you need a cup of hot water, I can bring it to you." Nathanos looked at Old Wu, who was staring at Venus. The smell of alcohol from the other party's mouth blew on his face.

"It's okay, hiccup~. I'm very awake. I just... saw Yunshui and Xia... Teacher Xia started fighting."

Nathanos was shocked and quickly looked in the direction of the elder. Sure enough, the elder in a blue robe and coach Xia were hugging each other and rolling back and forth on the ground.

"It's so crazy."

"Teacher Xia... had won 999 consecutive games before." Old Wu burped again and smiled foolishly from time to time, "He said... the first thousand games were the opponent... and then Elder Yuncun... taught him a lesson."

"Why?"
