Chapter 3 - The Dragon King's Decision
…………
After listening to Karegoth's description, Nozdom's reaction was completely expected by Alextsa. "Give the approval of the dragons?" The Bronze Dragon King laughed excitedly, "You should really go and see what happened at the end of time, Karegoth. The person who asked you to pass the message had long been in harmony with the Eternal Dragon."
"Then why don't you ever tell us, Norzdorm?" Isera pointed out, "Why are you going to say it again now?"
For a moment, some kind of regret and self-blame flashed across the face of the King of Time. But Nozdom immediately clenched his teeth again. His face returned to its usual hardness.
"Because now this matter is meaningless to me," he said, gritting his teeth. "I have been stopping him in the past, but I... have failed."
Isera felt guilty about the question just now, and she accidentally poked Nozdom's sore spot. No matter what he did with his back to his companions, he was just fulfilling his responsibilities as a guardian of time.
"No one will blame you, Norzdom." Alextasa's voice remained kind, "It's no point in tangling in the past, let's solve the current situation now."
The words of the Swound-Bindinger of Life stirred up a spark of hope in Caregus's heart.
"Calegus, is your sister in danger now?" asked Alextsa. In her impression, Nathanos and the Lich King were completely different. Teregusa was locked in the prison of the Forgotten and should not suffer any torture.
"She's good," said Caregos. "Nathanos told me she's good. When the former chief of the tribe sent someone to attack the Blue Dragon Guard that escorted the Focus Rainbow, his men saved the dying Teregossa."
Nozdom seemed extremely shocked. Karegoth took a step forward when he saw it and looked at him with a pleading look. "King of Time, maybe there is a conflict between you and Nathanos in the past, but it is not irreconcilable. I hope you can help the Blue Dragon Legion."
"He disturbed...time." Nozdom said the word "time", as if he was strangled. "Every decision I made must be considered from my accusations. I have failed Amansur's instructions. Do you still want me to be with that guy?"
A wave of shame surged across Nozdom's body. At this moment, he thought of Mnozdo. He was indeed in the same group as Nathanos in the future. It was really hard to speak of.
"So, are you still trying to eliminate Nathanos?" asked Lan Long, then swallowing, and he saw Nozdom glaring at him with a sharp look. But the Bronze Dragon King did not make any attack, but just shook his head.
Caregus continued, "So, what was the original right time like?" He thought about it and thought it should be explained more clearly. "I mean, what is the difference between the current world and the right world? What changes have our destiny? Or will the fate of Deathwing and Malygos be different?"
This question also aroused the curiosity of Alextasa and Isera. They both looked at the dragon who could answer this question.
"And what's different," Nozdom said in a heavy voice, "but the fate of the Forgotten One has changed, and there are... many people."
"Who is it, Norzdom." Alextasa asked.
The Bronze Dragon King closed his eyes hard, feeling unhappy to answer this question. Because he knew that once he said the answer, everyone would start to re-view Nathanos's behavior of disrupting the flow of time, and they would no longer have doubts about him, but might... support him.
"The biggest influence should be the Regent of Quel'thalas and her sister." Nozdom calmed himself for a moment before saying in a calm tone.
"Aleria?" Alex Tassa murmured.
"The two female elves are important figures in Azeroth's history. Aurelia should have disappeared from Azeroth, and Sylvanas would have become the queen of the Forgotten. Now, they are still alive and live well."
"It doesn't sound bad," said Isera.
Nozdom fell into silence in a silence. He remembered that Mnozdo had said similar things at the end of time. The Bronze Dragon King knew that the changed past had become better, but he had to be loyal to his accusations.
"Is there anyone else?" Caregus's voice became louder.
"Damn, what do you want to know?"
"I want to know what should have happened to this magic weapon."
Everyone's eyes once again gathered on Focus Rainbow.
"The fact we are facing now is that Nathanos prevented the tribe chief from using the Rainbow of Focus to destroy Theramore." Karegos heard Merriel mention this matter. It made him shudder whenever he thought about it. He knew that Rainbow of Focus had such ability. If Theramore was really shaken by... Blue Dragon, he was glad that the city was still fine now. "What would the fate of Theramore be without him? You said Sylvanas would become the leader of the Forgotten One, then would that elf stop it?"
"That's what happened after the death wings were wiped out, and I have no right to ask about it."
"But you can still see it, right, Norzdom?" Karegos said in a relentless tone that he was asking Norzdom to go to the Dragon Sleeping Temple. "Please tell us the answer, Norzdom. Use your power to show us. What is the original fact?"
"We should no longer interfere in the fate of this world." He refused. But Alextasa's voice made his heart sink gradually.
"Don't hide anything anymore, Nozdom. What exactly are you afraid to say now? Are you afraid?"
The three dragon kings' gaze made Nozdom's heart struggle. He thought he should refuse this request. Why did he hesitate? Nozdom wanted to know why.
When he came back to his senses, he found that he had taken out his legs and approached the Focus Rainbow. He had no time to retreat.
The Forgotten would have joined the tribe. This is the fact that Nozdom just concealed, because once he says it, it is equivalent to saying the answer - the Forgotten will not help Theramore, but will become the enemy of Theramore.
But maybe there will be others... Norzdom slowly approaches the focus rainbow, and maybe there will be others stopping Garrosh's conspiracy. Since the fate of Deathwing and Marigos has not changed, is it...
Titans are on, please.
The Bronze Dragon King took a deep breath, placed his hand on the Focused Rainbow, and immediately began to concentrate on exerting his strength and summoned the original history of Focused Rainbow. This process was a bit long because Focused Rainbow itself was very old, and all they wanted to see was only part of it.
"Okay." Nozdom breathed a sigh of relief. He suddenly felt curious about what would happen on that timeline. "Let's come over and put your hands on it and you can see it."
Caregus, Alextassa, and Isera walked towards the focus rainbow and surrounded him. With the Red Dragon Queen nodding, the four dragon kings placed their hands on the smooth surface of the magic weapon at the same time.
A bright light flashed out from the focus rainbow.
As the Queen of Dragons, Alex Tsa sucked the cold air of Northrend. The magic weapon was allowing her to experience that past history, but this time, history became a little different.
It seems that Nozdom did not accurately locate the history mentioned by Karegoth. The first scene Alextsa saw was the moment when Marigoth was defeated. No wonder, after losing the power of the guardian dragon, the dragon kings' control over power was much worse than before. The past scenes emerged one by one, from the Demonic War to the final decisive battle. The moment when the Death Wings fell in the Great Vortex was exactly the same as what they had experienced.
One thing has always been the knot of Alextasa against Nathanos. That is, the undead sent someone to set up mirror spells around the Dragon Sleep Temple, which caused Thrall to fail to hit the Death Wing when he first used the Dragon Soul. This forced the guardian dragons to re-separate part of their own power, and laid the groundwork for them to completely lose the power to protect the Dragon.
Sometimes the Red Dragon Queen would think what would happen if Nathanos didn't do that at the beginning, now she has got the answer. If the ending cannot be changed, they will still become mortals.
As the picture changed, the picture guided by Focus Rainbow changed again. This time, the artifact was escorted by five young blue dragons, and was then kidnapped by tribal assassins halfway, and none of them were spared. Alextasa felt sad for them, but what made her even more anxious was why no one came out to stop these robbers? She could only see the assassins succeeded and presented Focus Rainbow to their chief. A orc with a cruel smile on her face appeared in the picture.
That is the Hellscream of the Horde Chief. What happened then almost suffocated Alextasa. The Focus Rainbow was used as a bomb, tied to the airship, and slowly sailed towards Theramore. Even at this moment, the Swallow-Bindinger of Life still believed that someone would come out to stop all this.
There was indeed a huge figure. It was Caregus!
In the picture, Karegoth fell down from behind the clouds in the sky like a meteorite. His eyes were locked on the Focused Rainbow. He opened his mouth and the blue ice magic gathered in it. The Blue Dragon tried to freeze the magic weapon. In this way, the Focused Rainbow would temporarily lose its effect. The city below, and everyone in the city, would survive.
Alextsa didn't know what Caregus would feel when he saw this scene. She seemed to hear her companion Lan Long's heart-wrenching cry, "You must succeed."
She hopes so too.
But at this moment, the airship had already dropped to the height, and the cannons aimed at the approaching Karegoth. The Blue Dragon kept dodging, and he avoided many times. Then a cannon sounded, and this time, he failed to dodge.
Alextsa couldn't help but shout as he watched Caregus fall. At this moment, the picture turned sharply, getting closer and closer to the Mage Tower in the center of Theramo City. There was no doubt that the airship unloaded its "cargo".
Alextasa will never forget everything that happened next. He heard a rumbling sound, and the world in front of him was shrouded in pure white. In the meantime, you can see the scene of the building being torn to pieces. Heart-wrenching cry filled the ears of the Red Dragon Queen. That kind of despair cannot be described at all, and that scene is like a race of civilization being erased.
"Enough. Stop, stop!"
The person who forced the magic to be removed was Caregus. The Blue Dragon King was crawling on the ground, gasping for breath. Alextasa found that the other two were the same.
A minute or two later, they woke up, and each of them showed a look of fear on their faces.
The light of the Focus Rainbow was completely dimmed. But Alextasa still couldn't break free from the picture she just saw.
"This..." Isera wanted to speak but stopped. She swallowed with difficulty, her face turned pale.
"This is simply annihilation." Karegoth said this almost in a crying voice. It is understandable how painful his heart was when the Blue Dragon King saw the terrible consequences of the magic weapon he was in charge.
"This hasn't happened." Alex Tsaza was surprised by the unexpected tenderness of her tone. "It will never happen."
Caregus nodded constantly.
The oath-binding person of life looked at Nozdom who had his head buried beside him. Nozdom looked very shocked, with his eyes wide open, and his eyes were dull.
Alextassa breathed again. No matter whether the Bronze Dragon King wanted to hear it or what she wanted to say, she had to say something in her heart. "Norzdom, I'm very glad you failed to erase Nathanos." She stood up first, "We should not interfere in mortal matters, but the dragon must not bring disaster to the mortal world."
Nozdom glanced over the three dragon kings with nervous eyes, and then his head sank again. "You decide what to do specifically."
The Dragon Kings were silent for a moment. But they had already come up with the answer.
"I will go to Nathanos in person and tell him our decision," said Alextsa. "Caregus, I promise you that I will definitely return Teregus safely."
The Blue Dragon King nodded gratefully. Alextasa turned to her sister. Isera nodded too.
The Red Dragon Queen glanced at Nozdom and sighed silently.
The companions seemed to have left, but Nozdom didn't care. His mind was repeated over and over again when Theramore was destroyed. What made him feel very painful was that what happened on another timeline was exactly what he had always guarded.
Why did Amansur let him take this responsibility? Nozdom's face was twisted, and not long after, he heard another voice.
