Chapter Twelve - Behind the Scenes

…………

When Claudia saw Sylvanas, she was happy, but when she saw two other strange figures, the expression on her face froze. Although she smiled, she still seemed deliberate.

The strange humanoid creature has feathers and a crow-like head. The Alanka Peak Forest is full of dangers and enemies are everywhere. The Alliance also experienced some battles when it came here, but never clashed with the Crow Man (only the Crow Man who cannot fly). For them, the Alliance did not intend to be enemies or interact with them. So Claudia only felt strange when she saw it.

But the other person is different. There are some officers and guards in the command post. They are surprised and suspicious when they see this person. Some people put their hands on the hilt of the sword. The atmosphere seems heavy and tense.

"Commodore." In order to avoid conflict, Sylvanas spoke first.

"General." Sylvanas's rank title was higher than Claudia, and she welcomed the other party with a military salute, and then, if nothing unexpected happened, she looked at the person standing on Sylvanas's right.

"I know you, the King of the Forgotten." She took a deep breath, as if she was about to condemn Nathanos's capture of Lordaeron and many of the alliance territories, but this action attracted Sylvanas's strange gaze. I wonder if it was an illusion, but Claudia felt that the gaze was mixed with sympathy.

"I don't know what you're doing here?" said the brigadier general, and his eyes signaled to others not to act rashly.

Before all the troops of the alliance set out, Varian specifically instructed that as long as they do not take the initiative to attack or do anything that harms the interests of the alliance, try not to conflict with the members of the Forgotten.

"He came with me." Sylvanas explained.

"Can you tell me why you came here?" Claudia knew that Sylvanas and Nathanos had close contact, but they would not come to Alanka Peak for no reason.

The female elf was about to speak when the Withered suddenly stepped forward. His voice was filled with a strong sense of oppression, which sounded uncomfortable, but every word was clearly stated, "We have our own business. Before that, we are going to meet Taylor. Where is he?"

Unknown's anger surged in his heart. Claudia clenched her fists out of instinct. Her politeness to Nathanos was completely polite, not his excuse of being greedy.

"Sorry, Your Excellency," Claudia did not recognize King Nathanos, "I have no obligation to answer your questions." You can stand here entirely because of Ms. Sylvanas. She almost said this.

Nathanos would not retreat because of her toughness. She knew this, so she raised her head and looked at the king in front of her. Although she did not want to show any timidity, she must admit that she regretted it. The eyes of the withered man were like an abyss, and the little sparks were like flames in hell.

Seeing that her eyes made her mouth dry, she tried to swallow her saliva with extremely subtle movements, but found that she could not do it at all.

"Commodore." Sylvanas spoke again. This time Claudia sincerely thanked her for breaking the stalemate. She continued to look at each other and suspected that she would be swallowed up. "We really need to meet General Taylor."

"General Taylor is not in the fortress at this moment, he ordered me to handle all the affairs of the fortress."

Nathanos narrowed his eyes, and just raised his hand, a daily intelligence record placed on Claudia's desk flew to his hands.

"Wait, that's..."

Claudia swallowed the words to her mouth, because Nathanos's gaze was meaningful, first pressing on her, after she shut up, and then returning to the document.

After roughly scanning, the Forgotten King's mouth curled upwards with a subtle amplitude. He handed the document to Sylvanas. As well, a few browsings, the female elf closed her eyes heavily and shook her head helplessly.

There was nothing wrong with that document, and Claudia and the officers around her had seen it. She was curious about what made the two people in front of her react so differently.

"I'll ask you another question, where is Taylor?"

"It's outrageous, this is the territory of the alliance!"

"I'm afraid it's not anymore."

Claudia suddenly froze her eyes on Sylvanas's face.

"This document was from three days ago, Brigadier General, did not report the daily work of the fortress within these three days?"

The command post was frozen. Even the sound of breathing could not be heard. Sylvanas's face was bloodless. Claudia looked at her in horror. The current twist was something she had never expected, and the meaning inside and outside made her feel dizzy. Nathanos was still staring at her, mysterious under his eyes.

Three days? What was she talking about? Claudia thought to herself that the document was reported.

"You are all dead."

Nathanos was a lunatic, otherwise he wouldn't have said this ridiculous madness. The brigade general stared at him, thinking that the officers around her had the same thoughts.

At this time, Sylvanas took out something from her waist button - a small mirror with exquisite workmanship. General Ranger was the beauty of one in a hundred, and it was not surprising that she had a mirror in her body. She opened the flip cover and faced Claudia.

In an instant, Claudia almost fell backwards, her eyes wide open as if the size of a copper bell. The Union flag hanging on the wall was printed in the mirror, rather than Claudia blocking the flag, as if she did not exist.

"This...is impossible." She lowered her head, her hands trembling.

"Maybe it's normal for you to see yourself, but what we see are blue ghost bodies."

"You're talking nonsense." Claudia roared and retorted, while other alliance members in the command post were also shouting loudly. Their anger was completely understandable, and no one could accept such a reality.

"Enough!" Nathanos clenched his fist and slammed the table. The sound made by shocking the whole alliance. He growled at Claudia, "I'll ask you one last question, where is Taylor...?"

"He is..." Claudia subconsciously wanted to say the answer, but her mouth was full of a random mouth and no sound. She couldn't say the answer, her memory seemed extremely blurry, and she could not think of anything when she tried her best, but she had already discovered that she had missed something. "I..."

Nathanos put his hand lightly on her shoulder. The female brigade suddenly felt refreshed, and all the horror was dispelled. The memory seemed to be unfinished and came back.
