Chapter 3 - Lordaeron

…………

The next day, dawn

After discussing with Daphne, Brad decided to tell Nathanos the news by himself. He gently opened the door and found that the little guy had woken up, got dressed, and was sitting on a stool, as if waiting for him.

"Nathanos." Braid shouted softly. He was looking at him with no expression on his face. "Do you know? Uncle Jonathan told me just now that there are many children like you in Lordaeron. They are like

You are just as smart. The houses there are higher than the hillside of our home, and the river is as clear as the Sodorir River." As Brad spoke, he became more and more afraid to look into Nathanos's eyes, and even couldn't even look into his eyes.

Red himself couldn't tell what he was going to say. He wanted to tell Nathanos that he would go to Lordaeron with Jonathan today, but the face he loved so much in front of him made him speechless.

"I want to go to Lordaeron."

Brad looked at him with wide eyes. "What did you say?"

"Lordaeron, I want to go." Nathanos said.

After a moment of surprise, Brad knelt down and looked at Nathanos, clasped his little hand and put it to his mouth and kissed it.

"Good boy, go say goodbye to your mother. Uncle Jonathan is leaving soon."

Parting is always sad, even if it is just a short parting. Daphne hugged Nathanos for a long time before letting go, repeatedly telling him to listen to Uncle Jonathan. Her father, Breed, handed him a small bag of copper coins, with more than a dozen.

…………

Sitting on the carriage filled with fruits, Jonathan drove the carriage while paying attention to Nathanos's expression. The little boy was quieter than he thought. Jonathan thought he would cry and make a fuss because he was not used to the new environment that was about to come.

, he even thought of words to comfort Nathanos, but now it seems that he was busy in vain.

"Nathanos, Lordaeron is a thousand times more lively than Marris Farm. You will definitely like it."

"Lordaeron, is it better than home?"

Jonathan's expression changed. He was stumped. How should he answer this? In terms of terms, Marris Farm couldn't compare with Lordaeron, but having his family by his side was better than anything else. Jonathan was confused for a moment.

There was silence, and his wife Sally pinched him to shut up and concentrate on his journey.

"Nathanos, don't worry, you won't be away from your parents for too long." Sally smiled, and Nathanos seemed to see his mother.

Going all the way west from Maris Farm, you have to pass through Keldaron and Andorhal. Jonathan also pointed to the north for Nathanos, saying that it was Hearthglen, a fortress in Lordaeron.

It was noon when he arrived in Lordaeron. Jonathan got off the carriage and handed it to a family. Only then did Nathanos know that it was rented. There were an endless stream of people on the street, and the noise made Nathanos' brain

The world was spinning, and he clung to Aunt Sally's side, holding her tightly with sweaty palms. Sally smiled, the little guy was still too nervous, but he would get used to it soon and like it here.

Jonathan could only transport the fresh fruit back to the store in a trolley alone, and today he had to make jam from the fruit.

"We're finally here." Jonathan took a deep breath, and Sally wiped his sweat with a towel. "Nathanos, you take a rest first. After dinner, you have to meet your mentor and you.

My future classmates.”

"Tutor? Classmate?" Nathanos asked in confusion.

'What's the homework today?'

'Thesis, and math.'

'It's over! I can't open the wasteland again today. I finally got the bloody key.'

There was another strange whisper, which made Nathanos feel dizzy and almost fell down. Fortunately, Jonathan caught him.

"You may be tired, sit down on a chair and rest."

The little guy nodded.

…………

In the afternoon, Nathanos was taken by Jonathan to a place three blocks away from the candy store, outside a church. Here, he finally saw the peers his father said were the same age as him, and they were all accompanied by their families.

.The difference is that they were gathered with their companions, and Nathanos was alone. Not long after, a female monk walked out of the church, wearing a white robe and holding a staff inlaid with gems. Followed by a

The swordsman, holding a list in his hand.

"Everyone, please be quiet." The swordsman shouted. The noisy crowd below saw someone coming out and immediately surrounded them. The soldiers standing guard on both sides had to come out to stop him. "This is Brother Kana. She will announce the winner of this selection.

Children who have the opportunity to enter school." The swordsman handed the list to Kana, and facing the expectant eyes of a group of people, she went straight to the point.

"Kasha Boyold." Kana read the first name, and a little girl grabbed her mother's hand and said, "I'm here." With a smile on her face, she was so excited when she heard that she was selected.

It's like seeing snacks.

"Gray Mines."

The owner of this name is the child of an officer. He is much stronger than other children of the same age. He stands at the end, swaggers forward and bows to Kana. His father is a garrison officer, standing in the distance.

He nodded to Kana, this might be a matter of officialdom.

Kana then announced that more and more children were getting the chance to enroll in school, and some families were becoming increasingly desperate because there were not many places left.

"The last one, Nathanos Marris."

Jonathan couldn't wait any longer. He took Nathanos's hand and walked to the front. His eyes showed his gratitude to Kana, and the other party nodded. When his name rang, many children cried, and their families expressed their gratitude to Kana with gentle words.

Comfort them with a tone of voice, or hold them and cry together. This is the cruelty of competition. Every year, Lordaeron recruits many civilian students, but these selected children will undergo an ability assessment. Whatever their specialties, the country will vigorously

Cultivate their abilities. For example, if a child from a commoner family is born with innate magic power, he will have the opportunity to become a mage apprentice. The remaining ordinary children have one last chance, which is to be handed over in batches.

Admissions are given to churches from all over the country on a selective basis. There are only a dozen places in each church, so the competition is fierce. The church in the old city where Kana is located has the lowest threshold among all churches.

"Nathanos, we have to separate for the time being." Jonathan said to him, "Brother Khana will take you to visit and familiarize yourself with this place. According to the regulations, I cannot follow you."

The little boy hesitated for a moment, but there was no disappointment, fear, or even a trace of emotion in his eyes that Jonathan expected. His calmness made Jonathan a little scared.

Finally he nodded.

Kana was already gathering the children who were just named. Nathanos took one look and took the initiative to leave Jonathan's hands.

"There should be no problem." Jonathan looked at his back and realized at this moment that he was the one who needed comfort most. He suddenly felt panic and uneasiness that he had never felt before in his heart. Kana obviously noticed him and smiled back at him.

, tell him he can rest assured.
