Chapter 64 - The Shattered Setting Sun

…………

"You actually gave the potion that North had developed to Silver Dawn!" Merriel stared at the Withering Man who was processing the official documents in surprise. He only found out the actions of Lilian Voss and others afterwards. There was no doubt that Nathanos had done something hidden from him.

Nathanos raised his eyebrows, and he seemed to be thinking deeply. "That is the latest potion developed and needs to be tested. Silver Dawn is expected to attack Rivendell's territory soon, which is a good opportunity to test it." Nathanos said slowly, immersed in the fantasy of attacking the undead natural disaster. "If the effect is good, this potion will be made in batches."

Merell leaned forward, thinking about the Withered Word. "What? I think we should focus our attention on the north now. The minions of the Burning Legion have now occupied Queldanas."

Nathanos listened to Merell's narration indifferently. "There is a page of reports here, you can take a look at it yourself."

Merriel caught a glimpse of an open letter paper on the desk with a few lines of words written on it, and the Withered seemed to have intended it for the wizard to see it.

This is the latest report from the Outlands. Although the main focus of the Forgotten has returned to Azeroth, some of the work that stays in the Outlands is still underway.

"Broken Sun?" This refreshing name attracted Merell. After careful examination, he learned that this was an organization born to solve the Queldanas problem, and its members were Shattas's most elite troops.

"With them, we don't have to pay too much attention to the situation in Quel'thalas."

"Crazy!" said Merell. "You actually put all your hope on them, if they fail..."

Nathanos showed his anger and sat there quietly for a while. He raised his head with a stern look and replied: "If you fail, there will be a tribe, if you fail, there will be an alliance! What the world does not lack is the power of resistance. I will never put the fight against the Burning Legion first in the center of the Forgotten."

"Then what do you care about the most? What are you paying attention to the most now? What is the so-called 'focus first'?"

"I have only two things to do: to make the Forgotten Ones stand firm; to destroy the Scourge!"

"The Burning Legion is thousands of times more terrifying than the Scourge."

"They have failed twice!" Nathanos glanced at Merell with his eyes slanted. "I am all witnesses, and I have even experienced one of them personally. In my opinion, the means of the Legion invasion have not improved at all. Sargeras relied on the Well of Eternity, Archmond wanted to get the Tree of the World, and Kiljadan was nothing more than using the Well of the Sun. The three methods were exactly the same, and I firmly believed that the result would not be different. So arrogant, Kiljadan would definitely fail because of the Well of the Sun."

"You're betting, Nathanos." Merriel shook his head. This time, he really didn't want his plan to fail. "You said you won't do something you don't know."

"But I have never admitted that things will go as I want!" Nathanos buried his head, sealed a document wax, turned to deal with another one, "The Lich King will sweep the world with the Scourge, and before that, I hope his enemies will become stronger. The Alliance and the Horde will always clash for their own interests. The Blood Crusaders are crazy and blind. Only the Silver Dawn meets my requirements. They are very good and do not exclude other races. They will be the most trustworthy force against the Scourge."

Merell sighed heavily. He shook his head in frustration and looked into Nathanos's eyes. "What would you do if the Lich King is destroyed one day, the Withered One? What should the Forgotten One?"

Nathanos stopped the pen in his hand. He forgot what he wanted to write for a moment. All his thoughts were messed up by the mage's question. He also thought that without the Lich King, it means that the final revenge goal of the Forgotten One has been completed. They will feel happy because of revenge, but a sense of loss will follow. They will lose their direction. The meaning of all actions will disappear, and there are more problems...

Nathanos shook his head twice, frowned and focused on the work in front of him. He realized that Merrell was still here and was still waiting for the answer, but he would be disappointed. "You... retreat. This is not what you should consider."

"Of course..." Merriel nodded and turned slowly, "After all, you are the leader trusted by the Forsakens." The mage turned and left. His words always hit the nail on the head.

After a while, Nathanos stopped pen again and fell into that problem, and when he was left alone, he no longer needed to hide his expression. He thought that this was contradictory to the Forgotten. Every Forgotten wanted to witness the fall of the Lich King with his own eyes. Sacrifice in the middle was a failure, but persisting until the ending was not necessarily a victory. Nathanos began to doubt that when the Scourge was finally defeated, could the Forgotten really be happy? At least he wouldn't. Despite this, his intuition told him that he had made the right decision. The road had to go on. He stood up and made up his mind.

………

Now the atmosphere of Queldanas has become gloomy and firm. The once beautiful and sacred side cannot see a trace of shadow. The elegant spire tower has been ignited by evil fire. On the other side, Aurelia can almost hear the roar and fighting of demons. The good news is: the undead that keeps gushing out of the traces of death will attack those demons, which to a certain extent reduces the pressure of the blood elves. They just need to circle around and log in from the north to get close to the magician platform as quickly as possible. Kelthas is there! Aurelia held Sasdora in her hand tightly, thinking to settle the accounts with the Sun Chaser Prince.

The Regent looked back and saw that the coast was full of people and supplies, but only a small part belonged to Quelthalas, while the others were from Shatas, a new organization called Broken Settlement. They were reinforcements brought back by Leadrin, composed of blood elves of Delaney and Aldo. Aurelia turned her eyes and immediately found the figure of the Countess. She had taken off the blood knight's robe, put on the battle suit representing Broken Settlement, and was talking to an old man Delaney. The old man looked like a leader. Although Leadrin's sudden disappearance and sudden appearance are suspicious, the most important thing at this moment is to stop Keelthus's conspiracy. Other issues must be resolved after the battle is over.

The ships heading to Queldanas Island are all provided by Quel's Thalas. On board, beans, cereals, bacon and barrels of fresh water are stored.

"We are ready, Regent," Lorthema reported.
