Chapter 63 - Holy Water

…………

Rhine got up the next morning and quietly got out of the bed, put on her clothes, and did not make any noise as much as possible. After all, she checked her water bag, confirmed that there was no problem and immediately left her tent.

The sky just turned white.

She had just walked to the middle of the bridge on the lake outside the chapel when a voice came over. "Can you tell me what you are doing?"

Rhine turned to face Reblatt. The Groundbreaker's face was firm and carved with attention.

"I'm going to go to the Sick Wood Forest. If I'm lucky, I might meet those three dead souls." Rhine said directly.

Rebrati nodded. "Okay. Then I'll go with you too."

"I don't want to be with my companions. I have to do it myself, Reblatt," said Rhine. His voice was tough, but the Taurus's concern became more obvious.

"I don't like this, Rhine. I heard about your conversation with Maxwell yesterday. I know what you want to do, but this time, I hope you can think carefully."

"Of course I have considered it, Reblat. If the three undead are still my enemies, then I hope I will not pull my companions when I am in danger." Rhine lowered her gaze and dealt unnaturally. She then took a deep breath and said briefly: "I will be back in a few hours, if I can't find them." He accelerated straight towards the border of the bridge.

Without feeling uneasy in his heart, Reblatt watched the night elves turn into cheetahs and disappear into the distance. Element told him that there was no need to worry.

Finding the way back to the sick wood is a simple task for Rhine. She spent an hour finding the place where the battle had happened the day before yesterday. The morning mist was still clinging to the ground and floating along the winding path, but she could already identify a tree that was destroyed during the battle. When she approached, she slowed down and jogged easily, and used her hearing to capture any dangerous sound signals. Be careful, after all, although Maxwell had already expressed his willingness to accept the undead, the actual situation must be that the undead had recovered consciousness. The hidden things in her heart told Rhine that she seemed to have ignored something.

Rhine saw many small pits appearing on the once flat road, which were traces caused by meteors hitting the ground. The area was not very large, and her power could only be achieved to this extent. She saw if there were any traces of the undead in the surrounding area. Nothing was found. They seemed to have left.

A low rumbling sound from her throat caught her attention. She turned around and saw a dead soul sitting on a tree that she had seen not long ago, but not the one she had fought with. The creature was also a female, and seemed calm and composed, but her dagger was leaning against her waist and reaching her hands. At the same time, she was also very cautious.

Rhine took a deep breath and walked slowly towards her.

As she walked forward, she realized that she might have made a very serious mistake to this undead, which was also a problem she ignored. There was no trace of escape on the other party, her equipment was well-equipped and her weapons were not simple. Rhine initially believed that these undead would definitely be chased by the Scourge Legion after they recovered their consciousness, and they would definitely be very down and out. But...

Maybe there was something unexpected, maybe. But she had to confirm it in some way. When she was only a few steps away from the tree, the night elf stopped and she turned back to her original form to signal that she had no malice.

The undead kicked hard on the branch and landed lightly behind Rhine five steps away.

"That's what you night elves do, right?" asked the undead in fluent Danasus language. Her voice was deep and like rubbing sand, but its pronunciation was surprisingly accurate, and she bent down and made the actions of the Cardores saluting. Rhine was stunned and her shock was completely revealed on her face. The skin on the undead's face was twisted, and Rhine guessed that it was a grin.

"You can speak our language?" Rhine asked tremblingly.

The undead stared at her sternly. "Do you think we have existed for so long and still only know how to kill?" she asked. "Silver Dawn is really underestimating us. But this is understandable."

Rhine was only surprised at her. This was a dark thing sitting - a sinful, bloodthirsty creature. But she spoke with a flexible mind and wisdom. The creature did not rush up to tear her heart open, even though she had expected it. It was basically standing still, looking at her with her wisdom, cognitive eyes. Rhine shuddered, feeling shocked and frustrated. Without thinking, she uttered the question that had asked herself countless times: "I must know. Why did you and your companions let me go at that time? Why did you stop your companions from hurting me?"

The undead stared at her for a while and nodded. "We didn't plan to kill you."

Rhine sighed sharply: "Why do you do that?" she asked. "We are mortal enemies."

The Undead seemed to have thought about this for a while. "Your hatred is for the Scourge, for the Lich King, and we are the same. You are the enemy of the enemy to us." The Undead finished speaking. Rhine was not sure what she wanted to hear, but she definitely understood that the answer was unexpected. "Apart from that," the Undead continued, "You did not bring your friends to wipe us out afterwards."

"So, I should thank you," Rhine began, wondering how to call the undead appropriately. Feeling Rhine's panic, the undead said, "My name is Lilian Voss, the elves. You can call me Lilian or Voss."

Relieved, Rhine replied, "Thank you, Lilian. Thank you for your sanity."

Lilian nodded again. Rhine noticed that the protective gear on the undead was new. She speculated that Lilian was not an exiled undead.

"I'm Rhine." The night elf began. "I'm here to find you and your friends, Lilian. Your attitude towards me made many people in Silver Dawn feel upset, so I have to know if you're really different from the Scourge, or is this your conspiracy?"

Lilian smiled gently. "It's much easier to believe in orcs than to believe in the undead, I understand. I've been wandering in the Plagueland for many years, elves. I've moved from one place to another, hunting the targets of the Blood Crusaders and the Scourge."

"You mean, you have asked the Lich King for control?" Rhine blinked in surprise, "Is it only you? Are there anyone else like you?"

Lilian did not answer this question, and the response she gave was an unpredictable smile. Rhine sighed and continued, "Maybe, but your appearance tells me that your origin is not simple. Your armor and your weapons are all like saying that you are from an organization... or a force."

"It's so sensitive, elves." Lilian said with a smile, "But I always have to find a way out with the undead like me, right?"

"So you found it? Who are you?"

Rhine asked a key question, but Lilian kept in mind Nathanos's order: no matter what, the existence of the Forgotten One should not be revealed to outsiders.

The undead smiled sly: "Tell me, and then Silver Dawn sent people to search everywhere and wipe us out, right?"

"I will never do this!" Rhine's face turned red, obviously a little angry. "I just want to know you and then help you?"

“How to help?”

"The Silver Dawn unites all the power that can deal with the Scourge."

"Treat us as cannon fodder?"

"No!" Rhine vetoed, "You will be treated equally, like me."

"Sounds good." Lilian replied without hesitation. "But will everyone like you to listen to us?"

Rhine's face became clear, "Baron Maxwell, the commander of Silver Dawn, has shown his attitude to accept you."

"Where are the others?"

“They will do the same.”

"I have one last question." Lilian suddenly became serious. She drew out the dagger, making Rhine feel alert immediately. "If this is a conspiracy, the Lich King sends us into your internal affairs and finds an opportunity to dismantle you, what should you do?"

This question was just raised by the Night Elf, and she suddenly fell into a dilemma. It seemed that this was the test Lilian gave her. Rhine hesitated for a long time, and her face and lips turned white. She finally said, "I believe you, you won't."

After hearing the answer, Lilian Voss slowly retracted his weapon and replied with a lonely expression: "Not all living people are like you." Her expression told Rhine that she was rejected by the living people, even by her closest relatives. "We need to prove our innocence." Lilian took out a cone bottle from behind and threw it to Rhine. The liquid inside the bottle was light blue, like juice.

"What's this?"
