Chapter 18 - The Split

…………

Merriel has never been so angry, and has never been so angry since joining the Forgotten. He once accused Nathanos of always acting alone without any concealment. He originally thought that only the Withered would make him feel helpless and angry, but he didn't expect that there was another person now.

"Get out of here and let her come out to see me!" The necromancer angrily rebuked the crew of the Withering Sword who stood in front of him, thinking that these people should only obey Nathanos' orders.

"The commander is in the command room." said a Forsaken.

"Thank you for the reminder." Merriel snorted.

At this time, Jaina suddenly flashed in front of Merell with magic. The female mage might be too anxious, so she never thought that the fishy smell of the sea breeze and the stench of the rotten flesh of the Forgotten people almost made her spit it out. She had dealt with the Forgotten before, but it was only a few Forgotten people, the smell was very light and difficult to pay attention to. But here, surrounded by hundreds of undead, the stench hit her like a tide. Jaina forced herself to make her spirits, and under everyone's gaze, she quietly swore that she would never be caught off guard because of this again.

"Prodmore?" Merriel's anger became a little stronger. "You should be evacuating the residents of Nanhai Town."

"Someone is doing that, and I'm here to talk to the owners of these Forsaken warships. I want to know what exactly made her want to attack Nanhai Town."

Merriel originally wanted to say that this was the government affairs of the Forgotten, but the female mage's face suddenly made him feel very ashamed. She could have been out of the matter, and this matter should have nothing to do with her. But more and more innocent people are involved.

"Then... follow closely!"

Jaina felt a little surprised at Merriel's words. She thought the Necromancer would reject her proposal, and even she was ready to speak.

"You are the first living person to board this ship." Merell smiled at Jaina when he walked to her. With him leading the way, no one would stop him.

When he saw Tatsel, the fleet commander undoubtedly wanted to vent his anger. "Now you have begun to ignore the rules set by Lord Desert, Merriel? Do you want to interfere in the affairs of the Navy?"

The staff of Etiyes hit the ground hard, as if saying that Tatsel's anger was not worth mentioning compared to its owner.

"Nathanos handed over the Forgotten Navy to you, not to let you pretend to be wrong."

"Absurd? You didn't see anyone..." Tatsel noticed Jaina on the side and tried to change his words: "Have the alliance been riding on our faces?"

"So please tell me which warship of the Alliance is, and which general attacked your people?"

Tatsel was stunned and caught off guard by this problem.

"Everything you know is just a side of your vengeful subordinate! How can you rashly attack the Alliance's territory before the matter is investigated, and do you want to deliberately provoke a war?"

"Maybe Hacker would lie, then what about his crew? And those bodies, those forgotten people who died, would they lie?"

"The corpses can only tell you the fact that they were attacked! As for your subordinates..." Merriel's tone was sarcastic. "Did they see what the other person's captain looks like? He actually judged that the attacker was an alliance based on just one lion sail. Don't you think it's too stupid?"

Whispers sounded among the many advisers and staff of Tatsel, and some of them undoubtedly began to agree with Merriel's words. The fleet commander's decision was a bit too arbitrary, and it can be said that it was a decision made by subjective consciousness alone.

"The people sent by Veronara have investigated the truth." Merriel's heart ripples arose when she mentioned the commander of the Dark Ranger. She has the temperament of a leader...

"The people who attacked Shadow Tooth and Withered are not alliances, but pirates disguised as alliances!"

Next, the entire conference room was covered with surprise and sigh. Tatsel even stared at Merriel with distrust and suspicion on his face.

"That group of pirates was hiding in the island of Okaz in the dust swamp, because after Theramo disappeared, our surveillance of that place was cancelled, and we were exploited."

Jaina carefully pondered Merriel's explanation. Pirates were indeed a force of various races, and it was not difficult for them to get the alliance's equipment, but how could they want the alliance to fight with the Forgotten? How could they have the ability to plan all this?

The confusion of the female mage happened to be Tatsel's confusion. Merell immediately explained: "They are Blood Sail Pirates. Many years ago, in the early days of the Forgotten, in order to cross the ocean to Kalimdo, Nathanos reached an agreement with the Blackwater Pirates in the Treasure Bay to exchange for ships by destroying the Blood Sail Pirates. However, the Blackwater Pirates obviously did not do it clean. Now the Blood Sail Pirates are back and are back with hatred for the Forgotten!"

Tatsel was one of the first members to join the Forgotten, and still remembers everything she has experienced. She remembers what Merriel said.

"But this group of mobs cannot shake us, so it is not only the pirates, but also the remnant of the Lich King Salein. They sneaked into our inner world, spreading rumors and trying to deepen the conflict between us and the alliance."

"How could those group of vampires get involved in us? Nathanos clearly put them..." Tatsell's speech came to an abrupt end, as if he had accidentally given the answer, and his consultants were also shocked by her calling the name of the Withered One.

"That's right." Merriel nodded? "Nathanos refuses to let them join the Forgotten? This is their means of revenge. But, since they all want the Forgotten to pay the price, why should we provoke a war with the Alliance? Why can't it be a tribe? Our base is closer to Orgrimmar, and our foundation is also in Kalimdo! Why not let us attack the Horde? And attack the Alliance?"

Jaina and Tatsel thought of the reason almost at the same time, and the answer was the former. The female mage's reaction was subconscious because she was only surprised by the truth, and Tatsel had some more concerns.

"Is it said that the tribe is planning everything?"

Merriel turned his head and laughed. "I can be sure that the tribe's fleet is ready to go, waiting for the fight in Nanhai Town. They expected that King Urien would send a fleet to support him. By that time, the tribe could take advantage of the situation to help the Forgotten, thereby improving relations with the Forgotten, forming alliances, and even allowing the Forgotten to join the tribe."

The Forgotten Joined the Horde? Jaina covered her mouth in disbelief. If this matter became a reality, the Horde's territory would be at least doubled and its strength would be far greater than the Alliance.

For a moment, Jaina felt that Garrosh was much wiser than Varian. The Alliance King disdained the Forgotten and even disagreed with the most basic diplomacy with the undead. But what about the tribe leaders? They tried every means to make the Forgotten become a member of the tribe. Although Jaina suspected that Hellscream only favored their military value, that was enough.

Tatsel couldn't react. Merriel was like making up a wonderful and ridiculous story. Before she left Maraton, everything was just a fog. After a few days, the truth surfaced?

"Belmont and Veronara have started a cleaning operation, and they are going to find out all the Sarein spies. I guess they have caught a few of them now."

"So you came to persuade me to go back in advance?" Tatsel looked at Merrell with a strange look. "Unless I see the evidence, I will never let the fleet return."

"I'm not here to reason with you!" Merriel was furious. Without everyone's notice, his magic immediately raised Tatsell. The fleet commander was strangled and struggled in mid-air.

Several officers and soldiers outside the door tried to stop Merriel, but as soon as they approached the mage, they were frozen in place.

"Merriel, please don't do this," said Jaina.

"All you need to do is witness all this, little girl!" The Necromancer replied, then turned his gaze to Tatsel, waiting for her reply.

"I... will never... withdraw my troops."

The spell was compressed closer, and Tatsell felt his neck was about to be cut off.

"Enough!" Jaina shouted without listening to Merriel's advice. "Do you want to split the Forgotten?"

The magical energy disappeared, Merriel looked at Jaina Tatsel in shock and fell to the ground. She had no time to scold Merriel, and was also frightened by the female mage's words.

"I don't know what Nathanos did before he left, but I know that he would not want to see your behavior at this moment, whether he is present or not. What are you doing? Are you all crazy? One intends to force his compatriots to submit with tough means; the other says that revenge on his compatriots is actually just to satisfy the desire to attack the living."

The silence in the conference room was so depressing that it made people dare not speak.

"I haven't been condemned for a long time. But I accept your evaluation." Merriel's tone seemed to have made a big turn, and there was no trace of anger at all.

"I have no intention of saying this, Mr. Merriel. It's just... I think Nathanos has spent so much effort to maintain the existence of the Forgotten. Are you really going to destroy everything? Or is it that without him, the Forgotten is not the Forgotten? If this is true, I might be able to understand why he left without saying goodbye."

"Do you think you know Lord Wither better than we do?" Tatsel stood up, the breath of magic still tormenting her bones.

"I think so." Jaina said without hesitation, instantly attracting angry eyes from the forgotten people present.

"Because I am like him, both leaders. But we do not want our people to be shackles that bind our hands and feet. As a mage, it is much easier and more fun to study magic than to deal with government affairs. I am very glad Theramore is just a small city, and I can't imagine how blessed those who rule a king. Although Nathanos has not yet declared a king, the Forgotten Territory can even be as good as any other party in the Union tribe. Have you ever thought about what this brings to him?

Is it stress? Where should a military fortress be built? Where should a poster be added..." Jaina gave a few more examples. "These decisions must be made by the leader. How many times will be considered behind each decision be, only the leader himself knows. Although I have not met Nathanos, I know his feelings very well. He can accept everything he has made to make changes, but he will never allow it... I don't want to see someone break everything, but you undoubtedly disappoint him."

The female mage took a deep breath and asked, "Sir Tatsel, I probably understand that you are dissatisfied with Nathanos' departure. Can you really want Nathanos to sacrifice everything for the Forgotten until you die completely?"

"I never mean to blame the master." said the fleet commander, "I just... just hate the living people. They can not accept and understand the Forgotten, but what qualifications do they have to hate discriminate against us? We were their fellow citizens in the past. The Withered Lord has done so many achievements that prove that the Forgotten and the Scourge are different, but the living people's views on us are getting darker and darker. In this case, do we still need to endure it?"

"What's the difference between us and the Scourge without enduring it?" Merrell retorted. Tatsel looked at him with amazement. "Lordalon was once razed to the ground by the Scourge, and now the Forgotten Ones do the same?"

...

A moment ago, there was nothing on the ice, and now, weapons and corpses were scattered everywhere, blood was condensed on the ice.

Redpass went deep into the army of the undead twenty steps away, facing the Forgotten, without fear.

The people on both sides were dispersed. The undead, humans and dwarves were mixed together. The sounds of metal collide with metal everywhere, and the sounds of soldiers on both sides shouting for companions to kill the enemy.

Every time he sees a fellow man fall, his anger will rise by one point.

Although he could not use the sword as easily as his brother Joseph, at least he used it better than ordinary soldiers. He wanted to make the weapon covered with the blood of the undead.

A dead soul rushed towards him with a one-handed axe in his hand. Redpas avoided the axe and kicked the dead soul hard in the stomach. He was so unlucky that the dead would not eat, and the undead had no reaction at all. He smiled, then waved the one-handed axe and rushed towards Redpas.

"Are you ready to die?" said the undead soldier and raised his axe.

Just in the absence of the Forsaken, Redpass slashed at his chest with a sword.

The defender pulled out his sword and his opponent fell on the ice immediately.

"Ah! Human!"

Redpass turned around and saw another undead.

"You killed my crew!"

"Your crew killed my men!" Redpass snarled.
