Chapter 5 - Lorewalkers

…………

As soon as he walked into the village of the Zhufin tribe, Sylvanas and her soldiers immediately attracted the attention of the Jinyu people. The Silver Covenant had just saved one of their companions. Sylvanas did not expect them to welcome her warmly, but at least there was no need to look at her with suspicion.

“It seems that the people here are not friendly.”

"They are very sensitive, general."

General Ranger nodded slightly and came to the highest building in the village, an altar, with the soldiers. The altar was built with several stone pillars, and there was a koi statue on each side.

Some sacrificial activities seem to be underway. In front of the altar is a brocade fish man with a crutch, and a group of fellow tribes kneeling on both sides of the aisle.

"That is their elder, named Lushan, also known as the Waterspeaker."

Sylvanas signaled the soldiers to stay where they were and walked over alone. The fish man rescued with Taylor was also there, and waited next to the elder, with a stone bowl in his hand filled with liquid that looked like water.

The female elf bowed slightly with the most polite attitude she could show. Although she was respected as an elder, there were no wrinkles on Lushan's face. Sylvanas could only judge his age by the slender fish beard. If the brocade fish man lived as long as the elves, it would be that the elder would be over a thousand years old.

Before she could say anything, the Jinyuman beside the elder had already held the water in his hand to his benefactor.

"I'm not thirsty," said Sylvanas. But the Jinyuman just showed an awkward smile and still hoped that the female elf would drink it.

With questions, Sylvanas took the bowl and took a sip. Her sense of smell told her that there was no problem with the water. But the moment she swallowed it, she almost couldn't hold the stone bowl in her hand.

The saliva poured into her brain as if it had entered a blood vessel. After a cold stimulation, Sylvanas gasped.

"What is this?" she asked with anger.

"The water flow will break the barrier between our language, outsiders." Elder Zhuzi looked at Sylvanas, who had not recovered from the shock.

"The endless river water washes each of us. Some people choose to go with the flow and live in the world; some people choose to advance bravely and create a future. Which kind of person do you belong to, strangers? Where will the river water in your heart flow?"

"If you want to know the direction, I need a map." Sylvanas calmed down and stood up. She still spoke Sarasian. But as Elder Zhuzi said, the language barrier between them had been broken. She could understand language she didn't understand and respond in her own words.

"I need to know about this place, Elder Lushan."

Lushan's fish eyes stared at Sylvanas, as if she could see through what she was thinking. "Stranger, have you ever seen the stones when they were throwing into the calm lake? Any ripples can be detected by the fish at the bottom of the water. On the other end of the Emerald Forest, two groups of people with different marks brought war to the coast of Pandalia, and your soldiers also had the same mark. You... belonged to the blue side."

Sylvanas thought to himself that now he knew that he was in the Emerald Forest. "The blue you meant was the Alliance, Elder Lushan. I did come from this camp, but please believe that I was not here to provoke a war. In fact, when the Alliance fought with its enemies, I did not support me, just because I had more important things to do. I was looking for... two people, one child, and one undead."

Hearing the words "uncle", Lu Shan narrowed his eyes. "The undead you are talking about is Nathanos Desert?"

"Do you know him?" Sylvanas said in surprise. Could it be that Nathanos had ever been to Zhufin Village?

"This name is a taboo in the Pearl Fin Tribe." Lu Shan was resentful when he said this, and then he added: "No one in the Emerald Forest doesn't know him."

"So where is he now?"

Perhaps Sylvanas was too excited, and Lu Shan was a little wary.

Realizing his mistake, General Ranger quickly explained: "I'm really sorry? Elder. But please forgive me. The main purpose of my visit to Pandaria is to find Nathanos. He is... important to me? Please tell me his whereabouts."

"He was taken away. As for where he went, Liushui didn't tell me." Lu Shan replied.

The feeling of gap that the rising hope was broken by disappointment in the moment made Sylvanas's heart empty.

"So……"

"Karash, her people have saved you. Let's receive them." Lushan interrupted Sylvanas, saying that he really didn't want to continue talking.

"Stranger, Zhuzi Village did not welcome outsiders originally? But you saved our people. Can you and some of your soldiers stay? Our priests will heal Taylor until he heals? But after that? You must leave."

...

Kalash found an open and dry space for the Silver Covenant to station. Taylor is still unconscious until now? The chrysanthemum who was imprisoned with him has been describing the situation to Sylvanas at that time.

"Can your friend really fight? Before you come? He almost fled the village of the monkey."

Sylvanas has been thinking, they have no supplies? They are far away from their hometown. Although these beadfinished chrysanthemums are still doubtful about the arrival of the Silver Covenant, fortunately they are not hostile. What is important now is to get clues from Nathanos and Anduin.

"Your elders are so moody," said the Ranger General. "When I want to know where Nathanos is? I almost feel like he wants to drive me away."

Kalash grunted and asked, "Why do you want to find Nathanos?"

"Everyone has a reason for everyone? But they may not necessarily share it, Jinyuman. I only have one sentence? I have no malice."

"Please believe Elder Lushan did not deliberately hide it, my friend. He really doesn't know where the person you are looking for."

"So who knows?" Sylvanas had no expectation that Kalash could answer. But the next words of the Jinyuman made her rekindle hope.

"Maybe there is a scholar in the Emerald Forest who knows this land more than anyone else. Maybe he can help you, but I can't make sure you will be treated in any form. But his curiosity about you must be as strong as your curiosity about him."

"Where is he?" Sylvanas turned his head and looked at Kalash.
